I don't believe in Christ because most of the people who say they believe in Christ don't behave in very Christ-like ways.
The ones that do behave and act in Christ-like ways made be believe there are still good people on this earth, but it still isn't good evidence that Christ exists.
Christ befriend tax collectors, prostitutes, and lepers.
Are Christians really known for their care of those with AIDS, or drug abusers and alcoholics, or people that you see on Jerry Springer? Or do they simply look down on them, and say, "I go to church, I put money in offering plate. I'm on the Prayer Circle. I'm glad I'm not like those people." That's what the Pharisees did. They exhaulted themselves, and rather than be thankful of God's mercy, bragged about what good people they were, and condemned others.
The most conservative Christians demonize welfare, democrats who believe in social programs to help people, and are often downright rude or spiteful.
The bible says that what you do for the least of these, you do for him.
He says to give more than you are asked.
He says to love your enemies, bless your enemies, to be humble, gentle, kind, and pray for love above all else.
I have had people tell me that "god wants us to have life and have it abundently", which, according to them, means wealth, although Christ said that the seed that fell on the rocky ground was those of greed and riches that choked the plant, and warned against the difficulties of the rich man entering into heaven, because he valued his status and wealth more than God.
So, I guess what I would ask is:
Why is it so hard for Christians, who claim to follow Jesus, to believe in him?
Don't give me the "Christiians aren't perfect just forgiven" line.
It's far from perfect.
It's the antithesis of what Christ taught.
So, if so many Christians can't believe in your God, why would you ask those who are non-christians to?
(That's not a hypothetical question.)
