I just got off the phone (Yes Im on the phone at 2am, my phone is always on and I have a number of people who can call me incase of emergencies) with a friend of mine from school. We are both part of the a club at school, the Occult Studies club. Apparently the club leaders, several of our members, and the teacher that hosts our club, has recieved threats through phone messages, emails, and Laura even got a brick thrown through her window. Before school let out, we had a member-list stolen from the file cabinet where we keep all our club information. Yes we know it was stolen because the lock was forced and all our files were torn appart.

Many of the threats were religious in nature, I havent recieved one, but JJ's was pretty hostile. She said something about a line "The fires of God will ravage your soul and spirit, using your body, so ridden with sin, to fuel the fire." From what JJ told me, most of the notes are similar to that. Theyre ALL printed from a computer or emailed. We didnt think this was a connected thing untill someone hit about 3 people in one night, JJ's note got pushed under her door, and two other people got a knock on the door, when they opened it, there was an evelope with a note. The notes have not directly adressed the club, but so far, of our 19 members, 12 have recieved notes of a very similar nature.

Tomorrow is the first day of the new semester and we plan to report it to the principal and see what he plans to do.

What frustrates me is that no one in our club has caused any problems with anyone else, we havent attacked anyone publicly or otherwise. We havent been preaching to anyone. All we want is to be left alone to do our own thing.

It's very easy explained, if you are part of an occult club, then some people will stigmatise you as devil worshipppers or whatever, and rather get rid of you in an early stage then letting you spread the word of Satan, or whatever goes into these people's minds, thus you are being harassed and severely threatened. People throwing stones thru the windows, enveloppe's with threats or telephone calls with breathing angry voices in it. If you would leave the occult club then the harassment will probably stop. Which is a good advice because no club is worth losing your life over.

And indeed you should not. You need to weigh up in your mind the risks involved in staying verses the viewpoint you will have of yourself if you leave. But, having said that, membership in a club should not be grounds for harassment, speak to your principal but you might also mention it to the local police.

Unfortunatley the religious people panic when they hear of super-or Paranormal studies.
They see anything that is not linked to God as linked to the devil. If you guys aren't studying angel sightings then its the devil at work.

I am a Christian. Theres alot we can link to God, alot we can link to Devil, but some we just don't know.

There is nothing sinful about Ghost stories or finding out facts about ghost stories.
There is nothing harmed by finding out facts.

As a Christian, I appologize for these people that call themselves Christians.
Not everyone that claims to be a CHristian is one. Look at the KKK. They are suppose to a "Christian" group.
Hey if you hear any interesting para-normal post it.

My opinion of who should handle this problem:
If a school rule is broken then let the school handle it.
If laws are broken, Have the police handle it and inform the school of the problem. This is bigger then school.

This goes for high school or College or Tech schools.
(I would go to City or Town police rather then the School police in college.
Colleges have been known to worry about there School image rather then
legal matters.)

Yes, definately make sure this doesn't go unhandled, whether the principal or police have to do it. These acts by these so-called Christians are entirely uncalled for, and I, as a christian myself, apologize for that. We as christians are told to "love our enemies" and even though I don't see you as an enemy, these "christians" who do are totally off their rocker. I hope you get it resolved.
Praying about it,
Mike Lee

Ok, quick update. A group of about 5 of us went in to see the principal today and told him what was what. The people who had recieved notes brought it in. He looked at it and said he would call the police and they would come in and see what they could do. Unfortuneately, theres not a huge ammount that can be done. Our school is 2,700 people strong and we just have no way of telling who it might be. We dont want to be rousting everyone who thinks we're a bad influence. The police had thier hands full today with the wash over-flowing and flooding a mobile home park, but they should have a couple officers in tomorrow to talk to us.

I tried talking to the leadership of our school's Christian group to see if they could possibly help us but I got a...rather prompt brush-off by the president and most other members of the governing body of students for that group. Something tells me they want nothing to do with it.

I think what it is is that they know they'll probably get looked at by the police and that people will start spreading things so they want to distance themselves from any potential problem

Seriously, pal, be careful. Start buddying up if you stay late for the club, don't walk to your cars alone. Groups of two are good, three are even better. Watch for suspicious characters hanging out around school near where you are. Just keep your head up and your eyes open.

Not trying to make you paranoid or anything, but this is very serious, and could get dangerous.

You're doing the right thing in taking it to the authorities.

You sound stereotypical. Sorry, but "Christians" aren't harsh. Unfortunately, the ones like those Antoninus Verus is dealing with show an absolutely opposite image of what we want, but it's a pretty big thing to classify us all as that. I'm certainly not all about hate and anger, and I know EXACTLY who Jesus Christ is. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't make wild statements like that.
Antoninus Verus, I know you probably feel the same as this guy here, but please keep in mind that we aren't all like that. The ones you're dealing with right now obviously have a lot to learn about following God. I pray that you'll understand that although you may hear a lot of things, many of us truly are nice people.

God Bless,
Mike Lee

I have to agree with Mike, MANY of my fellow students are Christian and they behave in rational, kind, polite ways. There are the few religious nutjobs but those are very few in number. For the most part, I have not actually met a huge number of hostile Christians.

Seriously, pal, be careful. Start buddying up if you stay late for the club, don't walk to your cars alone. Groups of two are good, three are even better. Watch for suspicious characters hanging out around school near where you are. Just keep your head up and your eyes open.

The club meets during lunch so we dont have to worry about that. But we've decided to close the club to everyone who is not currently a member, atleast for the time being, because we're affraid that the person(s) that are doing this will come into the meeting just to figgure out when we plan activities and maybe snag phone numbers or whatever else they can get. And I think thats going to look bad to other people, we're already on the fringes, if we totally lock the door to all non-members that wont help. Those of you who remember high school, the line between rumor and fact is...blurry to say the least.

We did have the sheriffs come in today but there wasnt much they could do because quite frankly we dont have much useful information. The notes were coppied on a photocopier from a printed sheet, which really doesnt help, you can go down to Save On and copy stuff for a quarter. Its religious in nature and aimed at us. The cops told us that they would try but there wasnt much to work with.

I'm praying for you. I'm sorry that these people who claim to be Christians (as true followers of our Lord would never think to engage in such behavior) are giving you such a hard time. I'm happy that you realize that most people who claim to be Christian indeed have a gentle and kind disposition and display the true fruits of the Spirit. I will pray that in your journey through life that you will find true peace with the Prince of Peace. God bless you and keep you and your friends safe.
