Cancel cultures have always existed, from the ancient days of Egypt until now. The existing regime goes out of it's way to cancel mention of what went before, sometimes quite completely. Today they are lazy and just cancel any good done by the predecessor that doesn't fit the agenda.

They burned the records of the Druids (and the Druids themselves), and we're told by a Roman that they never wrote anything down. If you let your enemy write your history for you, that's what happens. They also say that the Druids did human sacrifice. If someone takes a land from you and uses your temples, are you responsible for the use they make of them? There are ancient Runes in the North now being used for magic spells... is that what the Norse did with them?

If "history is a set of lies agreed upon" (Napoleon?)... then our silence must be considered our agreement to what they've made-up about us.

The sad thing is that people are made to think that there was a Dark Age for the best and brightest nations... but logic says the brightest must have had the most history of which to write, and therefore must have been the inventors of writing. The Minoan Script hasn't been translated yet... because who-owns-it is still being argued. It's like when Etruscan was being claimed by everyone. Nationalism is only good when it isn't doing Identity Theft.

King Arthur "the bear" is in one old book that scholars have been desperately trying to dismiss... as though they never heard of Dawkins' "The Place of the Welsh in the History of Britain"... and couldn't let the Welsh have a history. Apparently, the only people universally allowed to be conquered are ignorant savages, so they cooked the books.

The name Cancel Culture fits... and thank you for the term.
