Why are there so many atheists on a Christian site?

Your standards what constitues a fact is obviouse much lower than mine. In any case, if God has not the power to transform people as witness for his existence, then what are atheists supposed to look at?

Think about what you just wrote, who speaks? A person, not God. The "seed", which is just another word for "words", is therefore put by the person that spoke the words. What happen with peoples free will if someone puts a "seeds" in their minds? Is that not a form of mind control perhaps? If this seed is mind control, then it is not God that perform the mind control, but a person. To make it real clear: I am putting seeds in your mind as well. Will you let them grow or not? That is up to you.

It is always great if a person can find peace in their life, but it does not mean the same "cure" works for everyone. I am fine with the fact it works with you, but I am not fine with the fact that Christians tries to push their "cure" as an universal solution, simply because it does not work for everyone. Some Christians even feel bad, suicidal even, with their life due to their beliefs.

Things are not as simply as you try to make them. I.e find God == life is great, on the contrary a belief can create even more problems and suffering than no belief at all.

The Trinity is one of the most difficult things to understand or even explain. Throughout the entire Bible, God had revealed Himself in three distinct 'persons' as related to the way God interacted with people. If God were to make all the exceptions to reality to coddle your sensibilities and general ignorance of where such an unfortunate child might go after they succumb to diseases, then life would no longer be free, it wouldn't be life.

And had our administrator Lucifer not rebelled against God and thwarted Adam and Eves redemptive mission, many diseases would have been eliminated long ago. Today we are born into the kayos of the effects of sin.

All of this is more kind then the Godless world of an evolutionary struggle that is ultimately meaningless in death.

Unfortunately this is where the argument of free will begins. If I believe in an all-knowing God, which I do, then I cannot believe in having free will. Why? Does that character in a book have free will? No. Do I believe God is the Author of my story? Yes.

I imagine your conversation would go something like this... "hello young children with cancer, I know a guy who created the disease that will kill you, and not only that, but he could cure you if he wanted too, but unfortunately, he won't. But you can keep praying of course, just in case he does give a rip.

Yeah, my sensibilities wouldn't allow me to kill young undeserving children as a direct result of my will. Sorry if you consider this ignorant, but at least I'd sleep well at night.

Things are not as simply as you try to make them.

It's not meant for everybody. I know it seems that Christians are pushy when it comes to spreading the News, and some are bad about it. There's no sense in beating someone over the head with a Bible, I never understood that. However, when I first realized the truth I wanted to tell everyone what I had learned, because of how much it had affected me. I really felt the need to share my story, and for some it was inspiring. As I said earlier, this is the way God can use someone to bring them to Him.

I can't argue with Christians feeling bad. I certainly felt horrible about how I had been living my life prior to knowing Christ. If I may quote the Bible, this verse speaks on that very thing.

"For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:20-23 ESV

In regards to your middle sentence; do you feel non believers can live good lives?

I have been on this forum for about thirteen years now. You will not be the first person to pray for me, and you won't be the last. It hasn't changed me yet... but I don't care, for better or worse.

Seeds... yes, I have seen some (a few) atheists converted here. I have also seen some (more, or so it seems to me) people losing their faith here. I don't think God has something to do with it... but, hey, I'm an atheist, what else would you expect?

I don't know what path you have been living... but neither do you about my life. So I find it only mildly condescending that you wish for a "better path" for me... and I hope you can accept it in the same spirit when I say that I sincerely hope that you will come to see the truth, lose your faith and get a better life, just like I have one.

Sin has an ending. It results in death. We all face physical death, which is a result of sin. But a worse death is spiritual death that alienates us from God, and will last for all eternity. The Bible does plainly teach that there is a place called the Lake of Fire where lost people will be in torment forever. It is the place where people end up that remain spiritually dead. Understand that you deserve death for your sin.
Romans 6:23b

“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Salvation is a free gift from God to you!! We can’t earn this gift, but we must reach out and receive it. Ask God to forgive you and save you.
Romans 5:8

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!!”
When Jesus died on the cross He paid sin’s penalty. He paid the cosmic price for all sin, and when He took all the sins of the world on Himself on the cross, He bought us out of slavery to sin and death! The only condition is that we believe in Him and what He has done for us, understanding that we are now joined with Him, and that He is our life. Because He loved us and gave Himself for us!! Give your life to God… His love poured out in Jesus on the cross is your only hope to have forgiveness and change. His love bought you out of being a slave to sin. His love is what saves you. Not religion, or church membership. God loves you! And reaches you right where you are.

Believe in Him. Ask Him to come in to your heart by Faith, and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Open the Holy Bible to the Gospel of John and read what God says about Jesus, about you, and about being Born Again.
God will help you. Just talk to Him. He loves you!!
You need to look for a local Church where God’s Word is preached. The Holy Bible says that we are to desire God’s word like a newborn baby desires mother’s milk. Aren’t you hungry to know the truth?!!

Yes, I do! We were made in His image, so of course even non-believers can live good lives. Our only problem is we're completely influenced by sin. I know in my own life all my so called 'good' when I look back, was actually very self-absorbed. Even if we try to do 'good' it's still for the wrong reasons. There is no doubt that people could perform more evil acts toward his fellow man than he does. However, if someone is restraining from performing more evil acts or to trying do 'good' by motives that are not owing to his glad submission to God, then even his “virtue” it is an evil in the sight of God.

See, this is one of the reasons why I frequent this board: I want to know what makes people act like this.

With just the tiniest bit of thought, it would be obvious that this preaching is completely ineffective with unbelievers... they simply do not accept the basics of what you assert here. So why do it?

I have my own ideas about it - based on human nature and nothing do to with God, Satan, spirits or demons... but sadly people like the quoted poster are usually not willing or able to hold a reasonable discussion about their beliefs.

So I take it just as amusement.

I can accept that you believe you have found something good and worthwhile to share. It is nothing I cannot understand: I almost feel the same.
It is the sharing part that bothers me: I know that I cannot share my feelings, my experiences. And I can understand why some Christians feel frustrated, because they are taught that they should share this... and they just cannot.

He IS stronger than cancer, but it all boils down to the fact that HE did not create cancer the devil/government created it.
God can cure cancer, and I don't know why things happen the way they do...
Instead of asking God, ask the government why they have surpressed a cure.
