Yes but many do a trick with this. They talk about micro evolution and then go into macro evolution and start to talk about how the Archaeopteryx for example show a Dino becoming a bird or a dog like creature becoming a whale. They cite micro evolution as the proof but then make the jump to saying that creatures become other different creatures by completely evolving into a different shape that has new abilities like grow legs or wings or start to breath air.Its a sort of slight of hand.

Why should it be proven? It isn't even claimed. The acquisition of "new more complex genes" is something only claimed by creationists in their strawman version of evolution.
Sorry its claimed all the time, they even try to say that the bacteria tests they have been doing have shown this. Where not just talking about the scientists here where talking about the many that come on here or on other sites and make these claims. They state it with the authority of having the science back them up. I just observed it only a few pages back and see it all the time. Its like they are a religion themselves but want to bag others for doing it when they do the same.
They DO acquire new genes, through gene duplication (observed), for example, but they are not more complex.
Yes i agree but they make out more than that. If a ape turns into a man it requires not just a duplication of existing genes but the addition of new complex ones. The same for any creature they claim that came form one that is completely different. The same for a bacteria becoming a living cell and the same for a water based creature becoming a breathing land creature or a land creature becoming a flying creature. But this is the core of evolutionary belief we all came from the bacteria in the primaeval soup and from that more complex life evolved into what we have today.
And I don't really understand the second part "develop into a living cell." Bacteria ARE living.
