So, in Hebrew does bird mean bacteria and fruit tree mean algae?

The Permian where the greatest loss was marine life? Second was insects. Also, they say there was more co2 and less oxygen during that time. Exactly what we would find with a break up and increased volcanic activity during Noah's flood. (Anoxic events).
The arid idea is just a proposed gradualistic process among other ideas about what caused the extinctions.
So, what was that about unknown causes again?
There is a known one written in a history book. The world wide flood. But that couldn't possibly be accepted by science, now could it? Even though it fits the evidence.

Why would there be increased volcanic activity during Noah's flood? Also, what most people would not realize is that most marine life would die out from a flood like that too. How was Noah supposed to get two of each sea creature saved as well? Also, 2 individuals do not provide enough genetic diversity to re establish a population.

Without the creature to test, how do you know there was not enough genetic diversity? Many animals Noah took were pairs of seven. (7 males, 7 females). The animal species of today would naturally have less diversity than at that time.

There is not enough water, and if anything like that would have ever happened, at any time in the past, it would have left (literally) mountains of evidence.
Runaway subduction. Raising ocean levels to flood the land. Which also would move the continents at a much higher rate than they are moving today.
After they cooled the ocean would go back down and the continents would slow their movement rates. That is what we see today.
