Why are Christians so incredibly deceived about scripture?

Can I jump in here?

There is no way any human has the ability to be moral enough to be save themselves. Even Sister Theresa needed Christs cleansing blood, death and resurrection to save her soul.

We need to understand that the price or penalty for even one simple sin, is death. We cannot survive that. Christ defeated death. He willingly died for us as a proxy. This is how we have our debt paid.

In Matthew 18:27 we read of a parallel situation. The debtor owes 10,000 talents. A talent was 130lbs of gold. So, that's like 20,800,000 ounces of gold. At today's price, say $1,300.00 per ounce, that's $27,040,000,000.00.

So, the point Jesus is making is that the debt is unpayable.

That is what our debt is, no matter what you contrive, believe, pretend, conjure, fabricate, or dream of a way to save yourself..... it's impossible.

We all need Christ's saving grace.......period.

Yeah, your not reading the Parable of the Talents correctly. For in order for your interpretation to work, you have to ignore the following verses that is attached to the Parable of the Talents.

"And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matthew 25:30).

"For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath." (Matthew 25:29).

I am doomed to hell as i am far from capable to be able to help save myself!
Join the club. I am dead because of sin, my hope rests in Christ alone. This world burdens me. Most people distract themselves with doing good deeds, or their job, or whatever. Myself, im so poor i have nothing to distract myself from this world. I feel the full weight of this terrible burden. So i wait for the Lord, and i persevere.

Look, if folks here want to sin, leave God out of it. Go back to your old life if you want to sin or make excuses for it. For Jesus said He would rather you would be hot or cold. For he said if you are lukewarm, He will spew thee out of His mouth. For Jesus and His apostles never encouraged people to hang out in their sins and to think on the blood of Jesus for their salvation and sing Kumbaya. Jesus and his apostles taught for us to live righteously as a part of being forgiven by Jesus (i.e. Meaning we are to follow Jesus as our example). Just do a study on holiness within the New Testament and this will become evident to you. But if you do not care to do so, then you will see whatever you want to see (so as to defend that is okay for believers to "sin").

This is not right. The natural man in these verses are the unsaved, because they do not have the Holy Spirit, so things of the Spirit remain foolishness to them.
you must have missed the next sentence i wrote:

"unless we receive the spirit of God, we can't understand the truth so that leaves us vulnerable to deception!"

aren't those who have not the spirit part of the unsaved - romans 8:9?

weren't you once part of that crowd?

so the "natural man" is all of us until conversion!

Fear, get thee behind me, thou has no place to torment my soul. I will sing unto the Lord a song of beauty and love. O my soul, wait for the Lord, he is full of mercy. His light shall yet shine upon thee. What shall separate thee from his love? Shall persecution, famine, nakedness, peril or the sword? Nay, nothing in all creation shall separate thee from Him. The battle belongeth to the Lord. :)

My life is not the standard. God's Word is the standard. Look to Jesus. For Jesus said, "be ye perfect as the Heavenly Father is perfect."

Why do you think the Heavenly Father is perfect?
Does the Father sin? Surely not.

Jesus even said to two people to "sin no more."

Was Jesus lying to these two people? Surely not.

It's why Jesus said,

26 "And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these."
(Matthew 7:26-28).

I am far from proud brother. I am utterly humbled in my state of distress. Its just that I need the joy of the Lord to be my strength.

Aren't the two commandments that Jesus left us with to love?

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind AND
Love your neighbor as yourself

Because love fulfills all of the law and the prophets?

Doesn't also perfect love cast out all fear?

So if the two most important commandments are love and God says that His Covenants are irrevocable, and love casts out fear. Why again should we fear God when we are His Own?

Is that because even though God's Covenant with us is irrevocable that you still preach that we can loose salvation because of sin and not doing works?

Im never comfortable with sin. Its just that i see how imperfect i am. Have you sold all you have and become perfect?

Did the disciples sell all that they had? They sure did. So what one man can do, another can do. So stop making excuses for your sin as being okay with God (By believing that all your future sin is forgiven you automatically). It is not okay to think that way. God is not a respecter of persons. Sin will cause spiritual death for both the believer (just as it would an unbeliever).

41 "The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 13:41-42).

"He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." (John 12:48).

What words of Jesus?

Take this one for example:

"But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
(Matthew 6:15).

Actually, no. There are 1,050 + Commands in the New Testament and not just the greatest two.

In fact, believing on Jesus is a Commandment (See 1 John 3:23).

Let the weak say I am strong

1 Corinthians 7:29 the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not; 30 those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not;

2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords
And your pruning hooks into spears;
Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’”

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

I Don't own anything other than tools. Even the apostles had tools. Peter was a fisherman, Paul a tentmaker I think. I fight against the sin in myself daily. I fight the fight of faith.
