why anime?

Exactly. Just what I was trying to say...lol...

I think you can grow out of certian genres within anime but not of anime as a whole......it's not books that a person can outgrow but just the childrens stories.

I haven’t grown out of it yet, been 10 years. It always held a good kind of healthy escape for me. I always admired the Japanese culture. One of my best friends liked Anime and he was Asian, he got me into it. Ever sense I’ve been hooked. I have collected hundreds of Anime VHS tapes along with many DVDs and quite a few CD soundtracks. I feel I enter a different world and kick up my heals to see where it takes me.

I originally started watching anime bacuase I like the art. Wanted to learn how to draw anime characters so I got a few anime from a friend and was totally hooked. I guess I watch anime for a lot of reasons but mainly bacuse I like many of the the story lines. There a nice contrast from your regular American TV shows and films.

That and I've always liked cartoons .

I'm only an occasional watcher, but I like anime because it's often far deeper than most things the West has to offer. I'm partial to stuff that makes me think, y'know? I wouldn't call myself an otaku by any stretch of the imagination, but still... there's some great viewing to be had. Beats the snot out of Ed, Edd and Eddy!

I watch it because they all have awsome storylines. They are always original. I also like the charactors and how they fight. They always have the best combat techniques and ideas. Rurouni Kension and Dragon Ball Z are my favorites.

Because I like it. I don't like today's American cartoons. I used to like the cartoons in the 80's. Today's American cartoons are just lame. So now I watch anime. I've also been interested in Asian cultures since I was a little kid. I like to watch anime that is based on Japanese history like Rurouni Kenshin and Peacemaker. I'm very interested in samurai.

I agree with you on that, too. I think if you add the history you get an even better story.

I like it because I'm very interested in human interaction and angst and anime seems to supply a lot of that. Also, the stories are very interesting, even moreso than a lot of American TV shows and movies I saw. I also like the art, the music, and of course the bishies
