So God changed his mind on this one? And Jesus was talking about eating with unwashed hands in your reference. Don't know that he actually declared all foods clean.

There is a comment in Mark 7, "in saying this, he declared all foods to be clean".
As well as the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Peter was the main source for Mark's Gospel. I don't believe that Mark would have written those words himself without Peter's, and the Spirit's, consent.
Paul also said in one of his letters that food does not bring us closer to God; he, a former, devout Pharisee, was saying that it was ok to eat food offered to idols (if it did not hurt anyone else's faith), because an idol meant nothing.

Tbh being vague, when you’re trying to make a point doesn’t work on text. They take what you say literally on here. Haven’t read all replies, but have you had the ‘Not under the law....’ one yet?
Ps. Ive asked myself the same questions, what parts of The Bible do we dismiss, to suit our ‘contemporary’ selfish desires?

Are you implying God is not all knowing? God tells us not to eat the blood of the meat but chicken and other animals are considered clean, so that theory doesn’t really make sense.

Note that God never commanded non-Jews to refrain from eating pork. The dietary laws were never for everyone, they were exclusively given to Israel. It was not sinful for a Greek to eat pork, but it was sinful for a Jew to eat pork.

The reason for this is covenant. God established a particular covenant with the nation of Israel, that covenant was established in Sinai, at Mt. Horeb, through the giving of the Torah to the Jews.

But the ancient Prophets looked forward to the day when God would establish a new covenant, and as Christians we understand that this new covenant is the one that came through the Messiah, through Jesus. This is why at the Last Supper the Lord says concerning the Cup of the Supper that it is His blood of the new covenant poured out.

We therefore have a new covenant, the Torah was never supposed to be the be-all, end-all of religion; rather as St. Paul says the Torah was a tutor that pointed forward to Christ. We therefore have a Mediator of a higher and better covenant. What was given through Moses was the shadow of what would come through Christ.

In Christ there is neither Jew nor Gentile. The former things which were given to Israel as a signpost pointing toward the fuller reality in the Messiah are not the things which are for us.

That is why Christ says, "Tear down this temple and in three days I shall raise it up again", He spoke here not of the temple of stone in Jerusalem, but the true temple of His body; and we by the grace and work of God are spiritual stones, built up into the Temple of God, the very Body of Christ. And Christ is the Great High Priest who made atonement once and for all, and we all are kings and priests of these new and better things. He having made us a nation of kings and priests by His grace.

There is therefore no longer sabbaths and new moons and days of special observance commanded to be observed, there are no statutes concerning food and drink, or concerning the wearing of mixed fabrics, or forms of dress. There is no longer reason to bring the sacrifices of bulls and lambs and doves. For we have the Great High Priest who stands in the Sanctuary of God forever, having made peace for all by His own precious blood. He is at once Priest and Lamb.

I think a lot of people will be in for a big surprise to learn when God said something, He actually meant it. He tells us this when He said He changes not. Hebrews 13:8. It’s the same God in the OT that is in the NT. When we start putting man made traditions in place of Gods Words, its something to be very weary of.

I dunno. That's what I'm asking you, per your original post which I copy/posted below. Aren't these things/books I'm asking about essentially considered Mosaic?
The OP asked a question about diet. The Mosaic Law has to do with things like diet and forms of worship, and that was never binding on anyone but the Jews. The Ten Commandments are part of the Moral Law, and that is binding on everyone. This has been understood since long before the birth of Christ.

I totally fail to understand how someone could get the idea that the Mosaic Law never applying to everyone in the world suggests that the entire OT is irrelevant. It's kind of like thinking that everything about medicine is irrelevant to most people because only some people have to have a gluten-free diet.

Here's why you can eat a pork chop also:

9 The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. 10 And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance 11 and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” 14 But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” 15 And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.” 16 This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven.

No one's suggested otherwise. The problem is that you think that he said something that he didn't say at all. This idea that he said that everyone in the world has to follow the dietary restrictions that he gave only to the Jews is total made-up nonsense.

Are you not one in Christ? Many more scripture that supports a lot of the laws and promises made are not just for Jews. Due to lack of time for now I will leave you with this:

Galatians 3:26-29
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
