Who's your Daddy, God, the Game, or something else?

Games can easily become your "god" if you aren't careful. If playing a game is getting between your daily relationship with Christ, then you are putting something above God. Hey I'm not pointing fingers either, just at myself, because I know I'm guilty of this, even now.

It's sad when I can play games for hours and hours but I can't find even a minute to read my Bible. Talk about convicting...

Any other people out there like this and want to share?

Well put (and cleverly-titled post), bro.

I try to take time for the Word as the very first and last things I do each day. Even so, I have to stop and take inventory sometimes: When I'm tempted to put a Counter-Strike wallpaper on my desktop during the day, is that idolizing a game? I've often got a window to BibleGateway open in the foreground, but still, I wonder sometimes.

If I don't let it encourage all my thoughts to wander toward a game, I typically feel that it's alright, but (silly though it might sound to some), I think we need to keep carefully aware of such things. They're definitely more significant than we may always realize.
