I believe it will be the downfall of the U.S. I've seen a great difference in our city since the borders were open. What. Possible good reason could they have. States are suffering financially, morally, violence is rampant. I just don't get it. A politician said in the news today that the country is moving up in every way. My words.. who is going to help the cities that have taken them in and are struggling financially? I would like to know how the citizens feel about it.

By "open borders", you might mean:
- No border checks at all, just let everyone in
- Border checks, but allow everyone in who passes the check (isn't a criminal, isn't smuggling, etc.)
- Border checks as above, but allow everyone who completes a certain procedure to become a citizen (similar to the current procedure for getting a driver's license -- everyone who passes the driving test can get one)
- Border checks, and don't allow everyone to enter the country, but allow lots more immigrants than we allow now.

Those are some possible meanings. Which (if any) of these to you have in mind?

There are many jobs that immigrants do that many US citizens don't want to do.

Totally agree, hiring them to help the police is signing a death warrant to our men in blue. Most police here are Mexicans. I pity the fools in our local government. So we'll train them for a war against us. You got money also.

Like, if I'm really free to use any definition I wish, then I define "open borders" to mean "picnics in the park on a summer day". I think picnics are good for the country, and there should be more of them.

If you want me to use a different definition, then provide a definition of your own term, and then we can have a conversation.
