  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

... with a better smile :)

Do I like elephants? Well I don't know many personally... but... yes I do like them!

In a safari park over here, I stroked one of them once... Very very rough skin! They need some Vaseline super duper intensive care cream!

I think they are often seen as big friendly animals. But they can of course be aggresive. I went with my Pastor to visit some missionaries in Tanzania a few years ago and we went on safari there too. There were two eles walking on the track in front of the car a little way ahead of us. We got a little tooo close and one of them turned round, put his ears out and raised it's trunk. We backed off a bit :D ...it's strange thinking that you're in their territory there, and not in a park/zoo. I don't think I'd have been able to stroke one of them without being a little bit flatter today than I am! ;)

I'm glad that ivory is no longer a desired item around most of the world and they are protected...
