Should the DNC nominate Biden against his wishes?By changing the rules mid-game.
If the primaries don't matter, why do we even bother to have them? But we did, and the message from the Democrats is, thanks for your vote, but we've decided to do whatever the heck we want.
Ah, democracy!
Should the DNC nominate Biden against his wishes?
The weirdness of all this distilled down to 18 words
Because of what kcfromnc posted.I'm not sure why you find this "weird". From January 23 through June 8, there have been primaries and caucuses to choose the Democratic candidate. Here are the results of this primary process:

But now, all of those elections and caucuses are moot.
Why do you think it's "weird" to point that out?

Thanks for the input! You're right...I don't even think Trump is a true Republican in the modern sense. I'm not sure what to think anymore about ANY politicians...have to keep doing my research.I see your point. But, if you want to keep the Republicans moderate, as a protest vote, you can vote for Chris Christie or Liz Cheney, or even Gary Johnson. Trump is by no means moderate, and is in a ring of far-right elites. My Republican friend here on the forum is voting either for Liz Cheney, or for someone else.
I don't think he felt he had a choice. Because of the negativity of his debates. And a interview. But I'm amused how the right side is complaining how we ditched him. When they said bad things about his mind. For the last 4 years. With that being said, I think the media will complain about every president. It's only going to get worse.Too late for the party to do that. Biden himself did it, as is his prerogative.
You are welcome. If you want a true, pro-life Catholic politician, Peter Sonski might fit the bill, though he is 3rd party. @chevyontheriver can tell you more about him. Thanks for the input! Thanks for letting me know! I appreciate itYou are welcome. If you want a true, pro-life Catholic politician, Peter Sonski might fit the bill, though he is 3rd party. @chevyontheriver can tell you more about him.
You are welcome, brother in Christ. Sonski is also pro-environment as well, if one likes the environment. I like his stances, and he keeps a good composure. Thanks for letting me know! I appreciate it
Okay thanks for letting me know that! They had until August 7th before their decision couldn't be undone.

Unfortunately, Obama's time machine was in the shop, so...The right time for Biden to "decide he was unable to run" was BEFORE the primaries so that the voters could select their candidate.
This isn't circumventing anything. Had Biden died instead, we'd be in the exact same place we're in now. There are procedures in place for stuff like this, candidates have dropped out of the race before (granted, earlier in the process, but still) and that's how democracy works in the real world. It's not ideal, granted, but we deal with it.It's great that you're fine with whoever the Democrats choose to serve up to you. But stop pretending like you're concerned about democracy when you're OK with circumventing the process at all costs to win.
If the 25th Amendment had been invoked, you'd have a point. There was a coordinated effort by the power brokers in the Democratic Party to oust Biden. Biden was absolutely forced out.
I'm not sure it is supposed to be followed through to any logical conclusions, just trigger a knee jerk "libs bad" emotional response in the target.I guess the argument is that if any democrat would drop out at this stage it just means democrats should not run a candidate.
