They sure seem to be putting Buttigieg out there in front on the speaking circuit in the last week. He's made as many appearances as Harris has. Harris must be giving him the go-ahead to test the waters.
I’m not a fan of Buttigieg but I was watching an interview with him and he was asked about something Vance had said about him. He said that he hoped they could talk about differences in policies and not personal attacks on his family.
I told my wife he’s showing how things should be done.

NC Gov. Cooper opted out of Harris VP vetting, in part over worry about GOP lieutenant: AP sources

WASHINGTON (AP) — North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper opted not to be a candidate in Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate search in part due to concerns that his Republican lieutenant governor would try to assume control if he left the state to campaign as part of the Democratic ticket, according to three people familiar with the matter.

[Cooper confirmed he withdrew: "wasn’t the right time for North Carolina and for me"]
That would have been an “interesting development”, yes.

Running a non-white woman at the top of the ticket is bold enough, overloading undecideds with an openly gay man in the second-slot might push many away.
He’ll make a good foil for her when she runs in ‘28 and might even top the ticket if she has lost this year’s election (and we’re still doing elections).

He’s principled, articulate and fast, he’ll make a fine statesman, right now though he’s still “in-training”.

You mean Democrats would take into consideration a person’s sexual orientation?

Harris narrows VP search to six, plans to interview them this weekend

Harris’s finalists are Govs. Andy Beshear of Kentucky, J.B. Pritzker of Illinois, Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania and Tim Walz of Minnesota, as well as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, the people said. Representatives for Beshear, Buttigieg and Shapiro confirmed that those officials had canceled previously scheduled plans for this weekend.

Kevin Munoz, a spokesman for Harris’s campaign, confirmed the process is underway but declined to comment further. “We do not expect to have additional updates until the Vice President announces who will be serving as her running mate and as the next Vice President of the United States,” he said in a statement.

He kind of blew it when he said Jesse Watters has Mommy issues. I guess it was just talk

I'm hoping she picks Josh Shapiro. He's Jewish, and I've seen how well the democratic party has responded to the defense of the Jewish homeland and all they've suffered. Harris/Shapiro would be a winning ticket for sure!

Minnesota nice wins out.

Harris picks Tim Walz as VP ahead of multistate tour

Vice President Harris has told allies that she has chosen Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to be her running mate, opting for a former high school teacher and Midwestern Democrat to complete a newly assembled presidential ticket, according to three people familiar with the selection who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a decision that is not yet public. Walz is scheduled to appear with Harris in coming days in each of the seven most competitive states — Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada.

Tim Walz, a second-term governor and chair of the Democratic Governors Association, does not hail from a traditional battleground state — Minnesota has supported a Republican presidential candidateonly once since 1960. But his credentials as a veteran and gun owner who previously represented a Republican-leaning, rural part of Minnesota in Congress could help Harris appeal to working-class White voters who have turned away from Democrats and helped fuel Donald Trump’s political rise.

I look forward to the VP debate (assuming there is one).

The pretend hillibilly with a Harvard degree vs the public high school teacher/coach, Army NG Master Sergeant (enlisted at age 17), Congressman and Governor.

Can't wait to find out what their campaign slogan will be:
"Build Walz, not bridges!"

More on his bio....and what prompted him to go into politics:

Walz’s foray into politics came later in life: Born and raised in rural Nebraska, after high school he enlisted in the Army National Guard, where he would serve for the next 24 years. After losing his father to lung cancer at age 19 — which he would later say shaped his views on health care — Walz enrolled in Chadron State College in Nebraska and graduated with a teaching degree in 1989.

Walz met his future wife, Gwen, while teaching after college, and they moved in 1996 to her home state of Minnesota. He would stay at Mankato West High School as a teacher and football coach for the next decade or so, until he decided to run for public officereportedly motivated to do so after he and some students were denied entry to a 2004 George W. Bush campaign event because organizers found out they were Democrats.

It’s 1984 all over again except mirror fashion; the Top of the ticket was “Fritz” Mondale, from Minnesota and his running mate was Geraldine Ferraro (NY).
This ticket, the Top is a woman from the opposite coast, and the man from Minnesota becomes VP, (as opposed to formerly being one).

Please tell me that I am wrong!

Interesting take....at least for the Democratic ticket.
On the Republican side, it's definitely NOT 1984.
