"Who Was He"

Who was He... this Lad so fair;
who was not afraid to go anywhere?
​

Who was He... this Lad so bold;
whom others listened to what He told?
​

If we had been living way back then;...
would we have listened when...
​

He spoke of Love and Kindness and Truth;...
Would we have listened way back then...
to this precious youth?
​

When He spoke even the winds obeyed...
and there were many times...
He just stopped and prayed.
​

His name was Jesus... and He came to show
us the way... to live our lives;
and have peace each day.
​

If I had been living way back then... I hope
that I would have been His Friend!
​

But we were not living when He calmed the sea;
and gave His life for you and me.
​

We are living here and now to this you will
agree... And we still need help in this troubled
world... and a friend; our problems to see.
​

Jesus is with us here and now...
Just as much as He was back then...
​

If we open our heart and soul to Him...
He still will be our friend!
​

If we thank God each day for this precious
friend... whom He sent to us long ago...
​

To teach us of Love and Kindness and Truth;
our lives will be peaceful... I know!
​

For God didn't put us in a troubled world...
and leave us to go astray...
​

He created us to have peace and joy...
and contentment every day!
​

Just as the crowds followed Him long ago,
when He stopped to show them the way,,,
​

We can follow Him even now,,,
every hour of every day!
​

And we too can have peace and joy...
and a soul that is free from strife;
​

If we just stop and listen to Him...
as we travel along the road of life.
​

Would we have listened way back then...
when this youth was sent to be out friend?
​

And are we listening to Him today...
as we travel along life's way?
​

He is here to bring us peace and joy...
if we open our heart to Him...
​

Yes:... Jesus... who was sent long ago...
to calm the sea and wind...,
​

Will calm our soul... this very hour;
if only we come to Him.​
