Well, public it is, then. I'd like to hope we can be respectful and not argue about someone else's motivations to vote. I'm sure God can help us all with that.

Wow. There's motivation for someone deciding whether to accept or not. *lol*

Maybe it's because of my age, but I still have hope that, with God's Spirit, this forum can change and being a moderator wouldn't be as awful as some people seem to think it might be. I have a hard time giving up on people.

I just saw where Stormy declined the nomination.

My only hope is that he'll try out for Survivor so I can root for him on some deserted island. $1,000,000 Stormy.

Come on!
ummmm no.... I don't do deserted islands, eating bugs.....

My brothers and sisters, I am surprised to be nominated and hope I am worthy as I am very simple and barely grasp what I am learning as I go through the truths in scripture.

I was watching 'Becket' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057877/ the other night and it struck me at how man can see that there is a duty above king and country. 'Becket' asked the King to please not nominate him to be Archbishop as he knew the anguish before him as a a man of principle it would entail him chosing between the King he loved and Gods purpose, and he knew what he must do in his heart and mind.......funny that this was what I was going over in my mind when I found out I was nominated....

I would like to lay out my idea of how we should proceed to make this work and have come up with the following:

As I told TrustAndObey I accepted under one condition, that a slate of candidates be chosen and accepted and supported by all. We would present it to the 'constituents' as a package and let them know we support everyone in the slate. Everyone would stand and be voted on individually, but with united core support (thats us) presenting it as our recommended slate of candidates, I am sure the rest of the constituents would see our purpose in being united and vote for them all as a 'group' we recommend to be elected. My recommodation for the slate of candidates as one package would be:

Tall73 as (Supervisor/Super Moderator)-Nominated by Woobadooba
Seconded by Night (and Jon0388g and Red)
I know Tall73 wanted to decline, but we (the moderators) would do the work but we still need a experienced hand in guiding moderators through the changes and rules, theology and with organizing skills in setting up and guiding our forum who is seen as honest broker and respected by all.

Mjona3-Nominated by TrustAndObey (in a different thread)
Seconded by NightEternal ( and Red)

StormyOne-Nominated by Mjona3
Seconded by TrustAndObey ( and Red)
And I would like to ask Stormy to accept as moderator as I have been with him in other forum issues and back him 100% unreservedly.

TheCountryDoc-Nominated by TrustAndObey
Seconded by Jon0388g ( and Red)

Jimlamore-Nominated by Tall73
Seconded by Red
And I would like to second Jim as I have seen his grasp of theology which we will need on questions of interpretation of Adventist beliefs in the Non-Debate area.

IntotheCrimsonSky Nominated by tall73,
Seconded by TrustandObey ( and Red)

And I would like to add David as I have seen his work in other forums especially on of Adventist beliefs and been impressed.
djconklin-Nominated by Red
Seconded by ?

And I would also like to add TrustAndObey as with this many moderators many hands make the work light and I feel confident she would accept with so many to handle the load, and I will teach her 'fluent Spanish' as part of the deal .
TrustAndObey-Nominated by Red
Seconded by ?

Reddogs-Nominated by NightEternal
Seconded by Honor (and OntheDL)

One note, I accepted with the understanding that I can only give my undivided attention when I am not at work (9-5) and of course Sabbath I set aside, when I feel I should only 'mod' to help a brother or sister that has fallen into a 'deep hole' to help them out.....

I had the same surprise when I found out I was nominated today, too, Red. For me I found it overwhelming because I have been praying for this forum with all the struggling it's been going through the past weeks, that I may be able to help in some way..then I find out I'm nominated. Nonetheless, I don't want to be too quick at accepting this.

I'd think you'd be great, though, Red. I've seen some of your posts and they are very thought provoking.

Just slightly confused about this. Are you saying you would only accept if ALL of them are going to be moderaters?

Did you see the thread that longhair75 started about the election procedures? We seem to be doing it that way, where every person gets a seperate vote. Not sure if this is what you meant or not. *lol*

Anyway, I'm glad you mentioned David (djconklin) as I was going to nominate him myself. So, I second him completely.

Oh, and of course I'd second Trust&Obey if she accepted..but sadly, I don't think she will. Up to her, of course!

CF procedures call for an individual poll on each candidate. I was originally told that we must hold this election in the Ecumenical Moderator Applications forum, but I am currently working on permission for us to hold the SDA elections here in the SDA forum. The last PM I had with my supervisor was pretty positive and it is looking good for this to happen. I am going to make the election thread a sticky so it is easy to find.

The next thing we need to have happen is for those nominated to post that they accept the nomination in the election thread.

Red, I was nominated and seconded already but I really cannot do it. Ironically it's because I'm already getting Spanish lessons at my local college. I start that class on August 20th.

I'm also taking 2 other classes.

My Spring semester is going to be more intense and then next fall, God willing, I start nursing school full-time. I'm going into specialized nursing and it's going to take me longer (and take more dedication) than just the regular classes.

I really do not want to disappoint anyone on here, but I'm not sure how I won't when my classes have to come first. If it came down to a choice between studying or doing homework or getting on here....obviously I have to pick school.

And Red, I have two boys. When I'm in school I already feel like they aren't getting enough of my time, and that's something you just can't get back.

I can live with you guys growing up hating me )), but not my children.

I'm not saying I'm perfect, but the love of christ has to shine through in the posting that others would know you have been forgiven. We need to keep that in mind when we express ourselves online or in person.
Why don't you just engorge it with an article of clothing designed for the extremities?

This thread only cements the view of how selfish Adventists have become. Talk about the family of God is pure cosmetics. If CF rules did not temper things this forum would be worse than Iraq. If y'all get on this way in somebody else's house just think what y'all would do in your own.
