It doesn't seem as if Biden will step down willingly....and he would have to in order for the DNC to run someone else (it's in their rules apparently). If however, Biden can be convinced this is his second term so he can't run a third time (a possible solution) who would step up and take his place?

Many people say "anyone" to this question because it simply means....not Joe. Asking who they actually want or who could win is harder to answer...

That's because the left's foray into identity politics has left them with many memorable and diverse politicians who don't know what they're doing. Let's look at the possibilities...

1. Kamala Harris.
Pros- Non-white female.
Cons- 0 achievements plus she starts sentences without knowing how they end. Politicians have to master the art of saying nothing but sounding like they know what they are talking about. Harris isn't there yet...

2. Pete Buttigeig
Pros- Gay.
Cons- Can't run a train yard. Trains are super complicated. They require a functioning train, a functioning track, and schedules. East Palestine was a disaster early enough that Pete convinced people it wasn't his fault. Later derailments were given less attention because that excuse only works once.

3. AOC, Tlaib, Pressley, Omar, aka the "squad".
Pros- Sassy, non-white, female (maybe, they can't define what a woman is).
Cons- Possibly hate the US and want to destroy it. AOC used to market herself as a progressive but she's given up that schtick and gone full establishment Democrat. She supports war in Ukraine and will accept bribes, especially those she solicits. Tlaib and Omar hate Israel (our one regional ally) and support Hamas. Seriously, both supported BDS, a pro-Hamas funding organization.
Pressley...well she's capable of saying things that make Donald Trump look reasonable and politically savvy.

4. Gavin Newsome.
Pros- People from California seem to like him.
Cons- People not from California think he's try to turn "Escape From LA" from a movie to a real life challenge. Seriously, every time I hear someone bring him up the reason he gets floated as a possible candidate is "I think he could win" whenever I ask why....crickets. This suggests to me that he's a politician's politician. Corrupt to the core, able to say all the right things, no idea what he's doing regarding policy or leadership. He's even got two strikes already against him....he's white and male (I think, I'm not sure he can explain what a man is).

5. Gretchen Whitmer.
Pros- almost the victim of an FBI plot.
Cons- Who? Apparently Whitmer said or did something at some point to be considered for the presidency. I just can't figure out what. Again, this may have something to do with her being a woman. I don't want to jump to conclusions though, as it's unclear what a woman is to people on the left.

These are some of the Democratic Party offerings and while they certainly aren't the only options (I've heard Cory Booker's name) they're the frontrunners imo. If you'd like to add a name to the list...please do. Just include pros and cons. If you feel I've left something important out on this list...please remember that I can't list everything about a person.

If this list seems underwhelming....I'd agree....and I'd point out it's the inevitable result of treating inherent characteristics like race, sex, or sexual orientation as accomplishments worthy of positions of authority and power. They aren't things that anyone does...and aren't really worthy of reward or celebration.

For myself, I do not like any of them, though Pete seems like the safest option, as long as he does not mess with railways. Best Democrat in the past 50 years: Jimmy Carter (if it was not for the Iran crisis, ruining his career) was tame, while FDR (best Democrat in the past century) got us out of the recession and through a war.

Joe Biden's choice of Kamala Harris as VP was one of the worst political decisions made by a presidential hopeful in US history.

The party is now stuck with the prospect of someone who is completely incompetent, unreliable, and downright dangerous running he country if Joe steps down. An admitted pot smoker, Kamala is frequently seen in public or on TV stoned and incoherent. She looks like Whitney Houston in the few years before her death

Harris has zero accountability --no one expects anything from her. She rarely shows up to meetings, can't be bothered with the border (probably doesn't remember being appointed "border czar"), doesn't understand policy, and hasn't even been included. She collects a check, and if anyone criticizes her, she labels them a racist

Harris as POTUS is a worldwide catastrophe

the only option for the Democrats is to get Biden to announce he isn't running, and then get Gavin Newsom on the ballot. To somehow get him the money to run a national campaign. Doesn't mean he is a good candidate, but he looks like Thomas Jefferson next to Kamala Harris

replace #3 with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.

IMO, Harris with Buttigeig as her VP pick would be a strong ticket.
Potentially. :) What would be really cool, is if Buttigieg (D) ran with Charlie Baker (a centrist Republican). If presidents had vice presidents of the opposite party, maybe we would have a more centrist nation.

....if only the Republicans would re-evaluate their choice.

Any other unsupported allegations you care to share?

Frankly, I hear a lot of people criticizing Harris....and have no substance to back it up. Should Harris become the nominee, I guess this is what we can expect......

Agreed, 100%. I know a Republican here who may be planning on voting for Joe, cos he is voting for the lesser of the two evils.

When Harris was running for president, she had like 1% support

and that was among Democrats

the only reason she was appointed VP is because of her skin color and gender --Biden made that very clear more than once. She is a literal DEI hire

People rightfully criticize a women who has no business being in the position she is in. Like the Harvard President who was chased out of her position recently, Harris is another example of identity politics gone very wrong

we can't afford to risk WWIII or a national economic disaster because some stupid white people want to put incompetent POC into power.

Agreed. As a brown person myself, I'd rather see competent people in office, and hiring someone simply cos she is brown is a bad idea. We should hire people on merits only. Blind hiring might give better results. This diversity stuff is messed up.

Say a country has 80% white folks, and 20% brown, then why are we trying to have 80% brown, 20% white. Assuming a blind hiring process, we would expect 8 out of 10 people in the workforce, or 8 out of 10 politicians to be white in said country, not much higher, and not much lower.

there were plenty of competent and qualified brown people to choose from I am sure

On the GOP side, I think Tim Scott is qualified and effective, even though I don't agree with him on everything

Harris was a bad choice, but Biden simply didn't care

There plenty of qualified brown people, but sadly, none of them were chosen. Tim Scott could work, though, we need much more than one black Republican or Democrat. If we have 10 candidates total for each side (10 is easy to calculate for math purposes), then we should expect both sides to have at least one black candidate, as black folks make up 10-15% of the population.

I think that "representation" is something we need to avoid

I have often said that I don't care what color a politician's skin is, or where he or she is from. I care that the ideology, policies, and goals are.

a white man can do much harm to me with bad ideology --voting for him simply because he is white is a really bad idea

Agreed. Race should be the last thing, or even ignored entirely when selecting a politician. For we are all one in Christ (paraphrase of Galatians 3:28). If Jesus did not look at race, then we should not either.

Galatians 3:28 (KJV): "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

Yeah... so much for the Trump being a threat to democracy. As we have often seen, the Democrats decry something... and then proceed to do the very thing they condemn—rules for thee and not for me.

I agree with that. The woke stuff has got to go. Woke culture is a threat, almost as big, if not even bigger than the MAGA movement.

Kieth Ellison     But they would see him dead before they let a Muslim in office.
Nope, we do not want Sharia law, my brother. I'd rather have an agnostic as president. However, if this guy is not woke, maybe he could work? A non-woke Muslim would be a better president compared to a woke Catholic (Joe).
