Now, I find it a little funky to pray to the Spirit. Jesus tells us that the Spirit is here to help us pray, not to pray to it. When Jesus was asked by His disciples on how to pray, not a word was spoken about praying to the Holy Spirit.
I believe our prayers should be directed at the Father as well as Jesus, and I'm not that sure yet if it makes a difference. I've discussed with people that think we should only pray to the Father. That's what made me bring this thread up.
I'm not sure I agree, but they made a good argument for it.
As for praying to the Holy Ghost, I've yet to find good scriptural backing for that.

I can assure you, those prayers were not mined out of Google, but the heart

Sorry, you misunderstood my & my postings (forgive me please)

I was just saying IMO the poster was wanting a refrence from the bible to praying to the Holy Spirit. The part about prayers outside the bible was just to make a point form what I beleved to be there POV.

Me, I enjoyed the prayers that were posted so far.

Alot of great thoughts and ideas and prayers shared her. The important thing is that we agree that we must pray and that prayer matters. There can be nothing wrong with asking the Holy Spirit for help, or thanking Him for a blessing, combined with worship to the Father and Praise to the Son.
Most people have difficulty understanding the Trinity. As long as we know, that all three Love us, and are worthy of our devotion.

The usual way is to pray to the Father in Jesus name, you can ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray. But Jesus is worthy of all our honour and praise, so praise Him all you like. Jesus and the Holy Spirit are just as much God as the Father.

The Bible teaches prayer to the Father for the most part so that is the way i pray.

often use "Our Father who art.. prayer" .. love all the prayers on here.. :)

Lovely prayers all.

Is God going to be ticked if prayers are directed to the Holy Spirit?

I doubt it. Most prayers in Scripture (I would say all, but I'm not sure) are directed to God the Father. That would be a good safe scriptural way to pray. I personally pray to the Father, and to Jesus.

Cheers,
Rick

Exactly! When you pray, you are praying to God. God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Even though you may not find a specific verse saying "pray to the Holy Spirit", to believe that praying to any one aspect of God is incorrect is essentially separating that aspect of God from Himself. You are (unintentionally, i'm sure) denying the triune nature of God by making one part of God somehow 'not' God.

When you pray to the Father, you are also praying to the Son and the Holy Spirit and the same in any order. How can you not be, when all of them are one?
