In the midst of a world rampant with divorce and Christians who just give up, this is a blessing!!! To God be the glory!!!
I get so excited to hear our pastor announce a 50th+ or 60th+ wedding anniversary.
The FathersDaughter said:In the end, you can not interfere with a homosexual and you can't tell them to stop being a homosexual. You can only tell them find God.
But you have to INTERFERE with them to be able to witness Christ and the truth of His Word that makes men free.
I can certainly tell them that they need to stop committing their [fill in the blank] acts and explain to them why using God's Word.
That's just it.
All authority has been given to Jesus Christ, not to you.
Scripture is useful for teaching and rebuking if you are not willing to be taught or rebuked it is a weapon. All of you who wield Scripture as a weapon should take care not to harm your own selves.
The whole thing??? Jesus said first remove the plank from our own eye before removing the speck from our brother. What is the plank? Judgement? ok we will stop judging, we will restore our brothers gently, and you can remove the speck from your own eye. Are you happy with that or have you really no intention to remove the speck from your own eye, in other words accept that same-sex sex is error.?(The whole "plank in the eye" thing.)
Yes it is, living out what the proof text is, living out opposite to the proof text is no way to live the life of God.Proof texting is no way to live the life of God.
The reason I use [fill in the blank] is because I have some blanks for you to fill in, and I want to ask if you believe these are areas where one legitimately should interfere.
For [fill in the blank] use:
• Roman Catholicism, Orthodox. Should one interfere with the practice of their faith?
• Anglican, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist. Should one interfere with the practice of their faith?
• Arminian. Should one interfere with the practice of their faith?
• Democrat, liberal, socialist. Are these beliefs compatible with Christianity, and should one use Scripture to interfere with these beliefs?
• Anti-war, anti-Bush. Can one not support this President and his war and still be a Christian?
I'm just curious -- I don't really expect you to answer the questions, but in case you do -- here are the questions.
Here are some of Jesus' authoritative words, my friend:Dear Chalice_Thunder,
And that is why I cited Jesus Christs NT teaching. So why do you dispute what you claim is authorative?
Scripture is useful for teaching and rebuking if you are not willing to be taught or rebuked it is a weapon.

Judgement? ok we will stop judging, we will restore our brothers gently, and you can remove the speck from your own eye. Coincidently you do come across very prideful and arrogant....since you brought it up......
and sometimes you are downright belligerent.
Here are some of Jesus' authoritative words, my friend:
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"
I am absolutely stunned at the ability of people who call themselves Christian, and yet they neglect the poor and needy, the widow, the orphan and stranger, and instead go after gay people.
What has any of that to do with the Reign of Christ?
It appears many of you think the Kingdom is too small and you want to "pull up the ladder" so that others may not enter it.
You seem fear a vengeful Divinity who is more interested in keeping score on small matters, while leaving the biggest issues in the dust.
That is not my brand of Christianity.
I want no part of the Pharisaic, legalistic, scorekeeping that some of you call the Good News. If you think that is all there is to Jesus' message, then you have missed it.
You exhibit a tremendous amount of ignorance about my own spiritual journey. And dealing with the text and the FULL COUNSEL of God's Word it means exactly what it says; If you are sinless then throw the first stone at her.
That in NOWAY is a prohibition against judging. They wanted to kill this lady over sin. If they were gonna kill her for her sin, they would have to righteously judge and kill one another for their just as equal sin.
Today's Christians are multitaskers. We can meet the needs of those God told us to and use His Word to correct the homosexual offender and bake a mean apple pie all in one lifetime.
Ain't God good?
You're asking what the Written Word of God has to do with the Living Word of God.
On the contrary. Like the Muslims, you're giving people the perception that they can sin, justify it, and be honkey dorey. You're leading them to a lie.
If someone wants to enter, they have to enter by Jesus. So stop attempting to fashion a fake jesus who is okay with sin for them.
You told me that you are a Christian. How long may I ask because that statement demands introspection on your part.
SIN=SIN=SIN
God keeps tabs of EVERYTHING. You will give an account for EVERYTHING. It ALL, big and small, matters.
Then by your own admission, you are not a follower of Jesus Christ.
You're exhibiting a very good reason as to why a lot of Christians do not spiritually grow. You want God on your terms.
God is God ALONE. He keeps score, and expects His people to point out wrong to each other. You just want to wallow in sin and not have anyone say anything to you about it.
It is not the call of a Holy God that His people sit back and be nonresponsive to the stumbling block placed by one who says he is a Cristian but refuses to acknowledge that what God says is true.
You exhibit a tremendous amount of ignorance about my own spiritual journey.
And you do so with a tremendous lack of Christian charity.
I am done with you and your judging.
See you at the Heavenly Banquet.
May God bless you on your way to it.
excuse me? Were the ones I have not Jesus authoritative words? Here are some of Jesus' authoritative words, my friend:
Christians dont neglect helping the poor and needy and the widow and orphan, they also keep themselves from being polluted by the world. James 1:27I am absolutely stunned at the ability of people who call themselves Christian, and yet they neglect the poor and needy, the widow, the orphan and stranger, and instead go after gay people.
you only seem to quote half the gospelWhat has any of that to do with the Reign of Christ?
well by your own citations you only have half the gospel. That is not my brand of Christianity. I want no part of the Pharisaic, legalistic, scorekeeping that some of you call the Good News. If you think that is all there is to Jesus' message, then you have missed it.
yes I agree What I am asking is why do I agree with all Jesus NT teaching but you dont agree with some? Also go and sin no moreDear Chalice_Thunder,
excuse me? Were the ones I have not Jesus authoritative words?
[quote ]"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"
Depends what we're judging, by what criteria we're judging it, and by what authority we judge it.
In many cases where Christians are condemned for judging (in itself a judgement on the part of the person telling us that we're wrong for judging), it is not us who are judging, but God who has judged and we're just passing word of that judgement on.
Dear Chalice_Thunder,
In fact the opposite is true, when quoting the passage from John 8 I always refer to not casting the first stone and sinning no more, you didnt. Casting the first stome is about punishment not judgement, you implied it was about judgement. The Pharisees had judged her guilty of adultery and were going to stone her, Jesus prevents that condemnation but we know she was guilty because He told her to sin no more.
