Black Forest Cherry Cake​

This name is a misnomer actually.
It should be translated as: "Black-Forest-Cherry-Brandy"-Cake.

It has got his name not from the cherries (Kirschen), but from the Cherry Brandy (Kirsch).
And specially the Schwarzwälder-Kirsch.

This cake is not a "Kirschen-Torte", but a Kirschwasser-Torte.

And this is Kirschwasser:

I LOVE chocolate and cherries! I love the Black Forest cake I've had. I don't buy or drink alcohol and don't know what brandy or cherry brandy tastes like.
