Music...Van Morrison--He did his own thing and never sold out...and he is a good shaman.
Poetry...Maya Angelou--She knows why the caged bird sings.
Writing...C.S. Lewis--He makes me believe in a multiverse...I think he has the inside scoop.
Painting...Henri Rousseau--Have you seen The Dream? Also, he captured the union of the subject/object in the New World.

My favorite is Edward Hopper. For me, it's because of his use of light. It's all about the light.

Daniel Merriam is my favorite and I just want to paint like him some day he is so amazing. And Picasso is another my favorite.

Vermeer. Just amazing.
I'm also a photographer, and I find Vermeer fascinating because he obviously used a camera (obscura) himself.
But I take more lighting inspiration from Caravaggio and more concept inspiration (for my particular work) from Sargent.
