Who is your favorite actor/actress and why?

another fan of Johnny Depp here. I can safely say I think he's one of the best (if not *the best*) actors of his generation. The man can make an otherwise mundane movie be a huge success. He chooses his roles carefully, takes them seriously, and seems to put a lot of thought and creativity into each film.

Favorite actor is definitely Edward Norton. Lol, it seems as if he's a favorite on these boards. For some reason, I can't really name any actress off the top of my head. I like Angelina Jolie ... for her work that she does for the U.N., but I've seen maybe only three of her movies.

Jackie Gleason - great actor - especially in The Hustler.

Paul Newman - one of the greats.

Harrison Ford - can play almost any role.

Tommy Lee Jones---I know he plays alot of "man's man" characters, but he is a tremendous actor. Lonesome Dove, U.S. Marshal's, The Hunted, MiB 1 and 2. He is a versatile actor with that seemingly ageless quality. Any movie he is in, I'm sure to see it.

Gwyneth Paltrow---First off, "HOTTIE", next she is just a great actress and has such a classy look about her. I loved her in Seven and A Perfect Murder and don't forget Shallow Hal 8).

Honorable Mention---Michael Douglas, Johnny Depp and Ashley Judd. All three are great and Depp and Judd get a special mention because they are from Kentucky

I think Clint Eastwood is one of the all time best American actors. Top 5, for sure. A good director, as well.

Aw man! Gary Oldman is so underrated! I think he is an excellent actor. He plays some really creepy dudes.

The character he plays in Leon is so sinister because he makes it so believable. Nil By Mouth is an amazing film too, although he directs and isn't actually in it himself.

He choses the roles that most actors won't touch because they don't think it will being in the money. He doesn't care. He also isn't afraid to make an **** out of himself for a role. He shows a wide range and variety in his characters, although they all seem to have one thing in common. They all seem to be cooky characters who are a bit of an outsider. But each character is different and he is able to bring them to life. Plus he's hot..lol. Sorry had to..lol

I can't believe I forgot to mention Al Pacino. Clearly the man rocks and honestly he is more my favorite actor than Tommy Lee Jones. Pacino is da man.

Yeah, he does play a lot of cooky characters. But he is a little on the eccentriuc side himself, so that's probably why he is so good at them. lol And yes, he IS hot.

Michael Vartan- he's bilingual and can speak both languages with the perfect accent. altho that has nothing to do with his acting abillities..he's hott...

As a side note, he was in the most recent Harry Potter flick. When Oldman was asked why he chose to do the movie, he said "Because I needed the work." He had not done a film since early 2002. Crazy, right?
