A dead heat between Freddie Mercury (Queen) and Matthew Bellamy (MUSE)

Interesting! Before I even saw the choices, Freddie popped into my head as the one. I hadn't thought of Bellamy, even though I like Muse a lot and have seen them live. I never saw Mercury in person, but I don't think Bellamy has the charisma and swagger... yet. It's obvious that he/they are very influenced by Mercury too.

This is about singing prowess only? And for a front man (woman) of a band?
Brian Littrell, Backstreet Boys
Lee Ryan, Blue
Annie Lennox from Eurythmics. Fabulous contralto.
George Michael, Wham.
Chris Cornell. Amazing voice.
Chester from Linkin Park.
Brandon Boyd from Incubus.
His brother Jason from Audiovent.
Chris Martin from Coldplay. Just love his voice.
Peter Gabriel (genesis when he was in a band) also has a beautiful voice with nice transitions into falsetto.
Sting has to rank highly. (Singer of the Police, went solo) Absolutely phenomenal voice.
Morten Harket, A-ha
Michael Jackson must be on the top list, he was front singer back in the days as well. Amazing, just truly amazing voice.
Tom Chaplain from Keane.
Gary LeVox, Rascal Flatts (not a huge fan, but you can't disrespect his vocals)

And what's not to like about a guy who dressed up like a flower. :)

Roy Khan-Kamelot

Second.

I saw the thread title before and that's who I was gonna post but it looks like I never replied.

But yes, Roy Khan is hands down my favorite male vocalist. He's amazing live and he's a great performer. Gets really into his songs.

Geoff Tate of Queensryche is also a favorite though as well as Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian and Dennis Schunke of Van Canto. But yea, Khan easily has my vote for number 1.

Ian Anderson

Sadly, not so much anymore. I saw Jethro Tull in concert a few times in the 90s, and ol' Ian doesn't do the old stuff justice anymore. Still a dynamic, eclectic guy though!

Actually, you picture reminds me of another great vocalist: Roy Orbison! I'm guessing you've heard that comparison before?
