Overall, I would label this as a "Push-Poll". When poll questions steer the participants to the desired conclusion, it is a push-poll. When the word "liberate" is marked in quotations, a conclusion is drawn that the only reason the US would go to war with another country, would be under the banner to "liberate" that country. That the overriding motivations for the war in Iraq are to "liberate" that country. The fact that the word "liberate" is in quotation marks, insinuates that this war has nothing to do with liberating, and therefore is subject to being scrutinized as a false motivation and is dubious.
Even if the motives of this war are questionable and disingenuous, the poll itself has failed, for it is not an objective one. It fully reveals the subjective position of the author.
All that being said.....
Here's a scenario that may play out. The war with Iraq eventually subsides, US and British forces eventually pull out, after an interum government is set up. The UN takes it from there. The paper tiger fumbles around, making resolutions and planning government infrastructure. As a result of ineffective debates at the UN, there is instability in Iraq. Eventually, the country is divided into many factions, with no cohesive or unified defense system. Iran watches closely as things develope, and at the opportune time, invades Iraq. The land disputes of decades past, will be be readdressed. The Ba'ath party, with a huge base in Syria, will re-enter Iraq and attempt to overthrow whatever 'government' is left, (after Iran is done with them.) And another 'Hussein regime' is born.
Just a thought....
