While the doctrine of the Trinity is a rich and remarkable issue enjoying significant scriptural support, I am not convinced that the salvation of a person is determined by a belief that Jesus is their God. Although it is a scriptural and orthodox Christian doctrine that pertains directly to christology (that branch of theology that pertains to the nature and work of Christ), the issue at hand is soteriology (that branch of theology that pertains to salvation as effected by Jesus). It is argued that Jesus had to be God in order to secure salvation, but that too is a christological issue. While a person can enjoy the saving faith that is given them as a gift of grace and mercy by God without believing the doctrine of the Trinity, the truth of Christ's nature will be made known to them as God continues to reveal both himself and the truth to the saved.GlowInTheDark said:Can someone explain to me why I must believe Jesus as my God? Please just give me some short explanations.
Not quite. If the Spirit of Christ is in you, and you are in Christ, you are a Christian. Of course, an explanation on this will be anything but "short," for it is a deep and involved issue that starts with the very nature of manhis sin nature, and the extent of sin in manand expands from there.GlowInTheDark said:When you believe Jesus as your God, so you're a christian right?
No, simply because that is impossible:GlowInTheDark said:Can I just believe Jesus as my God but without to be a christian?
The only way to obtain Heaven is through Jesus Christ. He is waiting for you with open arms, waiting for you to come running to Him for help. He is here to comfort us and hold us by the hand, for His way is hard, but rewarding. Can someone explain to me why I must believe Jesus as my God? Please just give me some short explanations
Hello Emmy,Emmy said:Dear GlowInTheDark,Jesus Is Spirit of God,one Spirit two entities;God Father our Creator,God Son our Redeemer. For 33 years Jesus lived on earth as perfect man, born by Mary a virgin, and at the same time He was also perfect God.He died, that we might have life with God again,by showing us the way back.(The bible will tell you why we were lost in the first place).Greetings from Emmy,a sister in Christ.P.S.If you love Jesus, you will have Him in your heart and if He is in your heart, you will be a Christian.
Hey glow..GlowInTheDark said:Can someone explain to me why I must believe Jesus as my God?
please just give me some short explanations.
When you believe Jesus as your God, so you're a christian right?
Can I just believe Jesus as my God but without to be a christian?
Thanks!
Read John from cover to cover as well. The four gospels exist in the New Testament as the 4 pillars of the Chruch. Each gives a different vantage pointof Christ's ministry.raym said:Hey glow..
my names ray, and i'm a newly converted christian( i used to be a sunni muslim)
i was just thinking about your quote that jesus is God. this really seems confusing to me, what do you think?
i mean dosen't jesus so often say that he can't don anything without his father in heaven, and he always says he is God's son. i mean if you just read the entire book of matthew from start to finish, you would never think that jesus was God
do you think that normal christians could be wrong?
It's always possible that "normal Christians" are wrong.raym said:Hey glow..

Scholars that study the Gospel of John in its original language, and even non-christian scholars that understand the Gospel of John to be a direct refutation of Gnostic denial of Christ's divinity, do not think these claims are symbolic.raym said:Hey Solomon,
......
Since the bible often uses symbolic language-God himself is sometimes said to have raised his "arm" to make an action, and so forth, could the book of John perhaps be using symbols?
Ray
Very simply and powerfully, Jesus IS God.GlowInTheDark said:Can someone explain to me why I must believe Jesus as my God?
