Jesus is the propitiation for the sins of mankind by God the Father - given as gift for whosoeverwill.
He isn't going to force anyone to take the gift or to believe in Him. Man stands in the middle of a complex and wonderfully designed creation, but is born into sin and death - without a spirit connected to God. The scriptures explain that all people know at some time in their life that there is God, but trade the truth in for lies that sooth the ego and arrogant pride man inherits from the nature of being born dead spiritually. Jesus came to offer Himself and pay the price of eternal seperation and death for mankind with His own life and to give spiritual life, and this is what is meant by being "born again" - born spiritually. He was also God. God is not limited to the dimensions or frame of man, but inhabits three personalities and characters. He is plural (three persons), but one God.

http://www.carm.org/questions_Jesus.htm

Romans 1:18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves.
19 For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts.
20 From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.
21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that their minds became dark and confused.
22 Claiming to be wise, they became utter fools instead.

Ok here goes....my basic explanation:

1. Just as there are physical laws that govern the universe, there are also spiritual laws that govern your relationship with God. I mean, if you were to believe in God you would want it to be personal and not someone that just rules over you indignantly right? Well here's the simple truth...God made us to love us! Sounds too simple? Think about this, if God is all-knowing and all-powerful he would need nothing from us. But it is because He is the full incarnate of love, he created us.
"...God is love." (1 John 4:8)
"I will put my laws in thier hearts, and I will write them on their minds." (Hebrews 10:16--God is visible and can be seen by people who do not yet fully know him....they feel a tug of 'something' missing, that something is a someone)
Well then why is that people aren't experiencing that special relationship or communion with God? Read on...

2. Man is separated from God. I don't like to use the word sin, but it is the acts of men such as hatred, self-destructive habits etc., that cause this separation. Man was created to have fellowship with God; but, because we have been given free will we choose to do these acts and broke fellowship with God. Imagine the Grand Canyon with you on one end and God on the other with His arms wide open, but there is no bridge! There is no way to shorten the distance.

3. This is where some people can get squirmy. But Jesus Christ became the provision to cover our sinful nature and make us appear acceptable to God's eyes. Historians do not debate there was a man named Jesus who was crucificed at the point in time that the Bible says. One cannot just accept Jesus as "a really wise and good man", if that were the case than the things he said and claimed would have proven him to be mentally deranged-not someone wise of giving council. He didn't leave it open to that possibility. But Jesus was also fully divine. He had no reason to die but he did, and he overcame death. Death is an iniviabilty that every single human on earth must face...and Easter is a celebration of him overcoming it.
Jesus' ressurection came as a shocking intrusion to everyone. NOBODY, not even Jesus' disciples expected him to appear to them as they were scared and hiding, fearing for their own lives. It would be as if you had just gotten home from your Grandmother's funeral and you pull in the driveway and she is on the porch with milk and cookies!
Jesus' life was just as significant. He healed people and showed them love. Jesus often ministered to the people that nobody else in society would...lepers, women, tax collecters. He showed them love and compassion when nobody else would, he healed them and gave them a sense of dignity. Read this this small excerpt of John chapter 9....
24A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. "Give glory to God,[2] " they said. "We know this man is a sinner."
25He replied, "Whether he is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!"
26Then they asked him, "What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?"
27He answered, "I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples, too?"
28Then they hurled insults at him and said, "You are this fellow's disciple! We are disciples of Moses! 29We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don't even know where he comes from."
30The man answered, "Now that is remarkable! You don't know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes. 31We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will. 32Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. 33If this man were not from God, he could do nothing."
34To this they replied, "You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!" And they threw him out.

Spiritual Blindness

35Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?"
36"Who is he, sir?" the man asked. "Tell me so that I may believe in him."
37Jesus said, "You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you."
38Then the man said, "Lord, I believe," and he worshiped him.
39Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind."
Now this blind man whom Jesus healed was completley ignorant and uneducated about God. Being questioned before the authorities about the man who had healed him, all he could say was "I was blind but now I see!". Jesus appeared to him later and asked if he believed in the Son of Man....the man said merely, "No I don't but please tell me so that I may believe in him". It was Jesus's love that opened this man's physical eyes as well as his spiritual eyes! That leads to the next point...

4. Individually we must recieve Christ into our hearts to experience and know God's love and plan for our lives. When you recieve Christ you experience a new birth
"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
(John 3:1-8...which explains why sometimes it is very hard to explain to a nonbeliever why you know and can see God working in your life, they haven't shed thier old view)

When you believe Jesus as your God, so you're a christian right?
Can I just believe Jesus as my God but without to be a christian?
It is worthy to note that in Jesus' time and even shortly thereafter, believers in Jesus weren't called Christians. They were called disciples of Jesus Christ. To be a disciple is to imitate and try to become more like your leader. The word Christian is only found 3 times in the OT, compared to the many more times 'disciple' is used. But really the question is a moot point. The question is have you heard Jesus and responded to him?
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him. Revalation 3:20
I'm not asking what your religious or philosophical thoughts are but do you KNOW God personally? Do you know that you are never alone, abandoned, or unloved? Have you felt God touch you? Have you seen and heard what I have? You can have all those things.... Friend, I myself was a hard-hearted atheist and was for a long time. Until I had an experience where I had no way to explain what happened other than as a sign of God....ever since I've opened my heart I've had so many more. God bless.

Having been born and not made, the Son of God is what God is. The expression of one essence simply means this: what God the Father is, so also -- is the Son of God. Essence is from the Latin word esse which means to be. The essence of a thing answers the question What is it? What the Father is, the Son is. The Father is divine, the Son is divine. The Father is eternal, the Son is eternal. The Father is uncreated, the Son is uncreated. The Father is God and the Son is God. This is what men confess when they say "the only-begotten Son of God ... of one essence with the Father." Being always with the Father, the Son is also one life, one will, one power and one action with Him. Whatever the Father is, the Son is; and so whatever the Father does, the Son does as well. The original act of God outside of His divine existence is the act of creation. The Father is creator of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. And in the act of creation, as -- we confess in the Symbol of Faith, the Son is the one by whom all things were made.

Forgive me...:priest:

who is jesus that is allot of questions our souls need to know as we are blinded by satan. But Jesus is the son of God who was cared and raised and loved by mary, He was beatin and hung on the cross for our sins so that we do not have to do any burnt offerings to the lord anymore. And sad to say you cannot believe in christ and still be lost in sin, but instead repeant ur sin and ask God to come in you're heasrt. It might feel strainge but he knows what u are praying about.

Hi there!

I haven't read everyone's responses, but I am certain that the questions about who Jesus is have been answered for you.

This question, however, needs addressing. You can "beleive" Jesus is your God without a profession of faith that He died for you or that He has forgiven your sins, or that the Spirit of God is indwelling in you. Satan knows that Jesus IS God, but that knowledge doesn't make satan a Christian.

The head knowledge (knowing the plan of salvation) and the heart knowledge (a sincere seeking of salvation) must match.

As an athiest, you may have the head knowledge without the heart knowledge of who Jesus is.

Personally, I think that believing in Jesus and not being a christian is pointless. It's like if you catch your clothes on fire saying: "I believe my clothes are on fire but I choose not to do anything about it."

That's also like saying, "My best friend just died so I could live, and I'm glad they did that, but I refuse to go to the funeral or show any grief or respect for the dead."

Are some light bulbs comin' on now?

Hope this helps you understand! ;)

I read some very good answers on "Who is Jesus?"May I give a short version of it,myself?God-Father is our Creator,God-Son is Jesus, our Saviour,God-Holy Spirit,is our Helper and Teacher. In the Old Testament the prophet Aisaih, foretold us,that a Saviour would be born of woman,to open a way back to God again.Jesus is our Saviour and Redeemer, our Master and our Friend. He died for us,that we might live with God for all eternity,as His Children.Who soever will, may come.Greetings from Emmy,a sister in Christ.

Jesus was like you and me, a man born of a woman, and raised as a part of a family. He learned his stepfather's trade of carpentry and displayed a special ability to understand scripture at a very early age.

He laughed and cried, and had all of the desires typical of all of us. He had a special affinity for children, and a familiarity with people from all walks of life. He was by no means conventional, and often talked with women and people outside of his own Jewish milieu, such as was frowned upon by the more respectable members of his society. He had a special affinity for sharing food and good times with friends, and in general enjoying life to the fullest. In fact, his first recorded miracle was to make wine for a wedding feast.

Then one day, he went to his cousin to be baptized, as was the custom during those times, and discovered the particularly hard path that God had chosen for him.

Maybe he already knew that his calling was to be the suffering servant, and the sacrificial son that God once promised that He himself would be providing in the place of Abraham’s son Isaac. Or maybe the special events surrounding his birth would have led to initially believe his mission to be one of great esteem and honor as was what was normally understood to be the case of Messiah. In any case, in spite of the dread that his prophetic understanding of his fate held for him, and in spite pf the strong temptations for him to ask his Father to spare him, because Jesus in full consciousness accepted his humiliating fate, the world became saved.

Only by allowing himself to be pulled down into the very bowels of human existence and descending in the heart of the pit of human misery would Jesus be able to allow all of mankind already inhabiting those depths to rise up to the heavens with Him. Blameless, devoid of all guilt, and filled with the love and forgiveness for the whole of humankind, only Jesus, both God and man, was deemed capable of both descending and then lifting corrupted man back up with Him.

Without the weight of sin holding him back, even death could not defeat Him. And when we too eat the flesh and drink the blood he offered to us freely and without condition we share with Him in the eternal life that comes from the tree of life.

Hello  ,

Yes, Jesus Christ is God. Lets take a look at John 20:28-29

John 20
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Thomas, also known as doubting Thomas, calls Jesus his Lord and his God.
Jesus does not rebuke Thomas, rather tells Thomas beacause he has seen HIm(Jesus) he has believe that Jesus is Lord and God.

The bible also tells us that Jesus created everything.
John 1
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
The bible also Tells us that their is no other God, beside Jesus.

Isaiah 43
10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
