Simple question...incredibly COMPLEX and short coming answer to give. Simple thing is, that we don't know FULLY who God really is..we have ideas that are presented to us via Scripture, but thats the extent of our knowledge of God. We can GUESS on things by showing what we know him NOT to be..but this cannot be answered sufficiently. I would however recomend the book called "The Orthodox Way" by Bishop Kallistos (sp?) Ware, it pretty much soley deals with God and his nature.

God is described in scripture as:
The Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, "I am," He is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

If these answers sound simplistic, it is because they have been given to a simplistic race of people. God can not be contained with in the boundaries of our understanding (Because He is infinite and we are finite.) So in these answers lies a simple answer, but if you look deeper these answers still hold true. They are as deep as you intellect is able to take you.

God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, three persons, coexistent and coeternal. This can understood as the Son Jesus Christ was baptised by John the Baptist in Matthew 3:16-17, "And Jesus, when He was baptised, went up straightway out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him: And lo a voice from heaven saying,"This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." All of the persons of the One God are revealed here: the Father who speaks of His coeternal, only begotten Son and reveals the coternal Holy Spirit that eternally proceeds from Him. All I can say for now. God bless.

Dear magisterfaust. God is our Creator, He made us in His image. God is Love, and to be with Him we have to become as loving. We moved away from God and became selfish and wilfull. In time we were too far away from Him, and the only way to have another chance to return to Him, we had to be forgiven for our wrongdoings/sins. We needed a Saviour to pay God`s Holy Law, a Saviour who was without sins and gave His Life/Blood out of LOVE for us, and redeemed us. Jesus paid the Price, He reconciled us to God, andwe have another chance to return to where we came from. We have to REPENT, exchange our old and sinful nature INTO loving God with all our being, and loving our neighbour, ( fellow-men and fellow-women) AS we love ourselves. God is our Creator, Saviour and Heavenly Father, and we have another chance to becoming His sons and daughters. I say this with love. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ.

God is many great things. First God is Love-perfect love. Perfect love is in Corinthians 13. He sent his Son Jesus to be our personal Lord and Savior. Here is why-Are you a Good Person? The Good Test I don't mean good or bad natured.

God is a Spirit. Those that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth-John 4:24. You may want to visit: www.TheBibleTruthBook.com.

Mortal men can't give you an accurate picture of who God is because we are finite and God is infinite. We are natural, God is supernatural. Fruits of the Holy Spirit (God)- Galations 5:22- joy, peace, gentleness, longsuffering, love, faith, goodness.

God is a Being (a person). We only know a little bit about Him. Some of the things we know is that He is Love. He is Wisdom. He is Spirit. He is Truth. He is Light. He is Life. He is a WE (plural). By His power the universe exists. The Bible says that "In Him we have our being".

He might be a similar concept to "mother nature", except mother nature is not a person, but God also is a person.

When we discover wisdom, we discover Him because He is that. When we love, we act according to God's nature, according to Love. When we discover math principles, we probably discover a part of God too. Life, who is God, brought forth life (us). Kind of like mother nature would give birth to trees and flowers...

Simple question ..... WHO IS GOD??
God is a Spirit, in and of himself infinite in being, glory, blessedness, and perfection; all-sufficient, eternal, unchangeable, incomprehensible, everywhere present, almighty, knowing all things, most wise, most holy, most just, most merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.
