and i am not talking about when you get saved you have the holy spirit inside of you, im talking about being empowered to do gods will and knowing that he is with you and you are living in victory. can you please shae your testimony IF you would like to ? i just feel like i would be exorted if someone just shared their experience with me

Walk in the Spirit and think in the Spirit and when I do flags - boy do I ever get transported in the Spirit.!!
Still get those down times like any other human being but somehow I know that I know that I know that the Spirit is in me!! Ye bo!! Hallelujah!

I was baptized in the Holy Ghost at the age of seven. I was in a song service, singing with all my heart, The Holy Ghost started putting words in my mouth and I have been speaking in tongues every since!

Just A Fool For Christ
I was Baptised in 1998 by water, and although it felt good, I still felt I was missing something, I prayed privately on and off for Gods Spirit, Not sure if I had been filled or not.
Then back in November 2005, Our Church done a series of sermons on maturing in the faith one sunday would be on the Holy Spirit with practical in the evening, I felt a real desire to go, God was telling me you will be there, But heres the thing I work N/S and start on a Sunday Night, so normally come sunday evenings I would be catching some sleep to get through the night. But God is good and doesn't like excuses and once a month we have one sunday off, there is no real pattern to this, but this particular Sunday was my night off, so no reason to go.
In the morning we had the sermon on the Spirit, and one thing struck me, throughout acts, Everyone was always prayed for to receive, I'm not saying you can't receive on your own, Just this was the way it seemed to happen, Also looked at was the evidence of tongues following most baptisms of the Spirit.
Come the evening, it was a quite peaceful service, we were just asked to come up the front Pray/ask God for his spirit and the gift of tongues as a sign then just let the spirit pray, I floating for weeks afterwards and also My uncle had justed passed away and I think as My Mums family was slowly dwindling this may have been the last straw Had God not given her something to be thankful for.
Praise God, for his love,loyalty and timing.

My wife and I were baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1980.
However there is no empowerment to do God's will.
Knowing He is in me is by faith in what the Word says.
Rom. 10;9-10 SAY That if we do what those verses say we are saved.
The question is does God lie? Of course He does not!
So, we can take what he says and depend on it no matter who or what is screaming in our ear something different.
God's Word is always the basis for what we believe and it takes study and reading and meditation in the word to become established firmly in the word. This process also reveals God's will to us as His word is his will.

No-one spoke in tongues, but everyone -- including the two non-Christians (who became Christians later that day) -- was saying "Did you FEEL that? THAT was God!!!"
I noticed a love for people that I had never had before, as well as joy in my spirit. Even my unsaved school-teachers commented on how different I was the next fall. I'll never forget that experience -- I was truly "empowered for service".
Speaking in tongues came about fifteen years later, but that's another (COOL) story for another time.

And whilst I do move in the spiritual gifts, speak in tongues etc. the greatest thing is the knowledge that God is with me all the time.
I know He was before, but now I know Him in a deeper way.
It's in the little things, the moment by moment choices, that I need him most.
And that is the most awesome thing - that He is involved in the trivia of my day to day living!
I still find that hard to grasp - but He is there!
And whilst I do move in the spiritual gifts, speak in tongues etc. the greatest thing is the knowledge that God is with me all the time.

I usually get a tingling in my feet or hands or on my head. But sometimes I don't feel anything but I hear Gods voice speaking to my spirit. I usually pray to be filled before I read the Bible or pray. Then just take it on faith I am filled.
I am more sensitive now to the HS then before and I believe it is because in my prayer closet I often get filled up. If you don't know how to do it you just pray. When you do you simply ask to be filled with the HS,and don't stop. Your first few times doing this you may not feel anything so take it on faith. Then do your regular devotions. After a while you will feel warm all over, or a feel a tingle when you ask to be filled. That is one way you know for sure you are filled.
I only want to add,that being filled is often the first step to,visions,prophecy,word of knowledge,tounges. God may start calling you out and using you,not just at church, anytime anywhere. Get alone with God and ask him to fill you up do this without fail and in a short while you will have a tangible anointing on your life.

Sorry to go against your OP, but for me it IS that I was filled with the Spirit when I was baptized. That is our great joy and gift -- the Comforter and Teacher promised to believers by Jesus our Master. While I certainly didn't know it at the time (and probably cried when it happened) the Spirit has been moving in me and empowering me ever since.
There is nothing good I can do without His guidance and prompting. When I sin (especially the long bouts of unrepentant sinful lifestyle that I've gone through at times), I can hear His quiet entreaties... and sometimes feel His holy clue-by-four upside my head driving me to my knees!
Through His work in my life my husband has returned to the church. Our daughter has been given the gift of faith. We have seen powerful answers to prayers. I have been guided through some extremely difficult debates with non- and anti-Christians, when I knew I would fail if I were to rely on my own words. We have been comforted... and have in turn comforted others... in ways that we could not have understood at the time.
In retrospect, my entire life is a song to God, with me the instrument and the Spirit the musician... coaxing me to the most beautiful music, despite myself.

We never stop getting filled with the Holy Ghost!
I was first saved in a church that did'nt teach that the Holy Ghost was for today. That was in 1983. I was so radically saved that I could'nt get enough of Jesus I just knew there had to be more. I came across the scriptures that all of the 120 in the upper room were filled. I began to search more and found that I had a right to have this free gift from God also. I decided that it was mine and I wanted it! I was stationed in Berlin Germany in 1984. I tried to get it in so many charismatic meetings. At one time I got in my closet and I got on my knees and told God that I would'nt get up until He gave it too me! Well, I fell asleep and did'nt get nothing but agrevated! Then one day while I was in a Church of God in Berlin, the Pastor called me down to the front and said that the Lord told Him that I would get the Holy Ghost today. In my mind I thought, yeah right I've done this before, but what ever! i went down there in obediance anyway. The minister layed his hands on me with anointing oil. Before I knew I was laying flat on my back pinned to the floor. I remember thinking get up you big dummy you look stupid just laying here. I could not get up! Then I just started speaking in other tongues, and I remember getting the most awesome feeling that I had never gotten before. I had been drunk before with alcohol, and I've been high on pot! But this was a high that I'd never experienced before, and it filled me with power to witness, and heal the sick and pass it on to others. I never stop drinking from that wonderful fountain of Living Water!
