I was the bassoonist in my college Wind Ensemble (haven't played since then) and actually played in a Christmas presentation of The Messiah. Now that's some hard work!

Yes! In my sixth form choir we sang The King Shall Rejoice and Zadok The Priest at the Christmas concert. It was the one of the most amazing experiences and the alto part will never leave me now after all that rehearsing!
I've never performed in Messiah but I studied it at A Level Music. I especially like Comfort Ye, Every valley and For unto us a child is born. In fact, I like all of it!!!
Love "The Messiah" . Often, only the 'Hallelujah Chorus' is sung in public , but the whole work is really worth the listening. Check your local library for a copy.
I own ( Birthday gift from my Sis ) Handel's "Water Music" CD performed by 'Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields / Neville Mariner on the 'argo' label.
