  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To many people are concerned with " when life begins " i think we are off base in this matter. It matters not when life begins, that is to say when flesh is considered flesh. or when flesh is considered human, or when the body of that flesh is developed enough to be considered life.

The question is not, When is the fetus considered to be alive. But the question should be when did the fetus recieve the spirit of life from God ?

Tell me, the spirit of life that is in you right now, from wence did it come ? Did your father and mother create the spirit that is in you, or did they only create your flesh. But from wence did the spirit come into you ?

The spirit that you have in you, and is in us all, came from God, for only God can create life, only God can decide who will bare children and who will not, only God allows a person to have children.

So the question then is this, WHEN did you recieve that spirit of life that is in you ?

What then? God looks down and says " Well Jane is pregnant, the fetus is 6 weeks old, shall we give her a spirit of life ?

Know you not that God has already determined if you would have life or not have life, even before the fetus was conceived? Hath not God the power to prevent a sperm cell from ever coming into contact with the egg cell ? Know you not that God knew before it happened if a you would become pregnant or not pregnant, For it is He would determines who will have life and who will not? Therefore the spirit of life is given the instant the sperm cell fertilizes the egg. For God can prevent the egg from getting fertilized if He so chooses the person to not get pregnant. But if He allows the person to become pregnant, He also give the spirit of life at the moment their egg is fertilized.

If then God creates life, and determines who will and who will not become pregnant, why do we go about to destroy what God is trying to create?

I like the antiquated King James language you used here. Makes me roll my eyes and not take you as seriously.

I think you're giving God too much of a roll here. We control creation a great deal. I can prevent the creation of a child simply by not procreating. God has given us that choice. We play a vital role in the process of creating new life; you make it sound here as if God is the sole variable. He is not.

If God is the only force that determines whether or not people get pregnant, then contraceptives and celebacy are completely irrelevant. We know from experience, however, those things control creation a great deal. Thus it is not only God that decides when a new life comes into play but us as well, as I can prevent the creation of life simply by abstinence or contraceptives.
