  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Check your history again. That province was called "Judea" in the first century.

dr0imapromeprov.gif

Dave, I'm not going to continue an argument about proper geographical names here. I'll capitulate to you that we can be more refined in identifying 1st century Judea. Fine. I have no problem in doing that. But, this thread is simply about whether or not White Supremacy has any place in Christian faith, and I think we both agree, it most certainly does not and never has.

So, for me, that's the end of my participation in this thread. ;)

Peace,
2PhiloVoid

I fully agree.

And my apologies to the OP and the rest of the thread for starting that rabbit trail.

And I apologize for perhaps coming on too strong about that "other" thing we were talking about. Jesus was completely Jewish, and I affirm that part of who He is.

Peace, brother.

I'm not sure why it's more important what the Romans called it in the 1st century as opposed to what the Greeks and Romans called it during the time of Alexander (and before and after).

It's pretty clear that, for the Romans, Palestine was the region, and Judaea was a province/kingdom within that region between 6 and 135 AD.

Does this have any place in Christianity?

Christians worship a brown-skinned Jewish man from Galilee as God Incarnate.

So no. It has no place in Christianity.

You may not know the history. The name was invented in the 2nd century to insult the Jews who had just lost the Bar Kochba revolt (circa 135 ad) Before that, the Province was called "Judea." (as it is consistently named thru the New Testament)

So "Palestine" is both an insult to Jews and biblicaly incorrect.

Herodotus had referred to the region as Palestine centuries back when Rome was barely a twinkle.

Is there a difference between white supremacy and white nationalism or pride? Can you be one and still be a Christian?
The whole idea of "white" was basically a racist contrivance.

Have nordic pride or pictish pride or whatever. Have gallic pride if thats your thing. But "white" pride is dumb and toolish.

QFT. Your race is a ludicrous reason to be proud. It's nothing you've earned, or achieved. It's not a skill you've acquired, or a talent you've worked to develop. It's a biological trait that's purely an accident of birth. Being proud of your race is as senseless as being proud of your blood type.

I think it's been established in this thread that white supremacy ideology and Christianity are completely incompatible. How anyone could think there's room for that kind of thinking in Christianity is beyond me. We're all God's children

However, I feel that in the overly politically correct climate we find ourselves in, a lot of things get labeled as "white supremacy" or "white nationalism" that actually aren't. For example, talking honestly about Islamic terrorism in the Middle East or the drug cartel epidemic in Mexico doesn't make somebody a white supremacist

Where was that established?

The Christian Knights of the KKK would disagree.

They also disagree that our Lord was a middle eastern JEW.
They think he was as white as a Swede and had long blonde hair with blue eyes.

You are being dishonest.

BLM is, and always was about bringing awareness to, and protesting against the obviously egregious police brutality and murder against Black persons in the States. It was a direct protest against the racist justice system in the States - which categorically stems from white supremacy.
.

Lol how does the justice system stem from "white supremacy"?

The only "supremacy" recognized in the bible (on the human level) is Jewish supremacy.

"To the Jew FIRST and also to the Greek..."

But with that position also comes a more difficult calling and obligations.

the only real supremacy is intellectual supremacy.
My wife and I were in Walmart this weekend and saw the DVD of "Hidden Figures," so we picked it up. Talk about "intellectual supremacy!" It is a true story and if you have not yet seen it, do so ASAP.

I actually believe that. Most people don't know this, but the Jews have the highest IQ in the world -even higher than that of NE Asians.

I've considered myself a Jew-wanna-be for some time now. Not religiously, but culturally and genetically.
