  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello all -

I just got back from two weeks of much needed leave. I spent a week and a half in Central Florida and half a week in Erie, PA.

Central Florida is definately not lacking in churches of the Reformed persuasion - Erie, PA is in dire need of some.

While in Orlando I visited a church called "Metro Life" which is affiliated with Soverign Grace Ministries - just to see what it would be like. I was quite blessed at their service.

I have to share with you all - that I didn't think it would be possible to walk into a service and see the "gifts" of the spirit PROPERLY exhibited as well as listen to solid reformed preaching afterwords. I was very happy with what I saw and experienced there. Also - the music at the worship service which is all reformed lyrically was awesome. I don't think any of our regulars to this area of CF attends a church affiliated with Soverign Grace ministries - its a topic that I've been concerned with in the past - but after looking into them for myself in some more detail I would say they are solid scripturally and am very excited about our own church trying to align with them here in Texas.
