Ok i need some help on a system and some games for the pc

Systems: X-box 360, Wii, Playstation 3
which one and why

Games : Neverwinter Nights or Baldur's Gate II
again which one and why

Feed back if possable

I can't really comment on the new gen consoles since I don't own any of them.

As far as choosing between NWN and BG2, that really depends. NWN has a nice single player campaign but it's strength is multiplayer. BG2 is a huge game with a great story and tons of side quests. NWN is 3D and has better graphics while BG2 still uses the Infinity engine but the gameplay is amazing.

Graphics and multiplayer = Neverwinter Nights

Epic story and amazing gameplay = Baldur's Gate 2

You really can't go wrong with either of them.

My local GAME store has a AD&D Mega Pack which contains both NWN+all expansions, BG1+expansion, BG2+Expansion, Icewind Dale 1 and 2 and some other Dungeon and Dragons games. Also it only costs as much as a orginal game does here(around 40USD). Dunno if it's available elsewhere but that might be a good choice if you can find it. Doesnt contain NWN2 though.

can't comment on the games, haven't RPG'd those.....

but if I were to purchase a console it would be either the Wii (Yes I am a fanboy) or the PS3.....

Wii because 1) It's Nintendo 2) The motion response thing is a great idea 3) the titles that I've seen are fun
PS3 because 1) It's Sony(Not nintendo, but almost as good) 2) some of The Games are more mature than Nintendo games, and for shooters/RPG's that means they're deeper story lines 3) the graphics are nice on it

Not the 360 because
1) It's Microsoft therefore evil to the core
2) The title's don't seem to be originals just ports of games you can either get cheaper on your computer or on the other consoles for 10-30 bucks less (Depending on where you shop and where you live) 3) The Graphics on the games look the exact same as the old Xbox in fact the first few times I saw it demoed at the Game Stop I thought it was the Xbox with new games....

So far, I'd have to say I'd want to own a Playstation 3. Why? Simply because I already own a 360. Quite frankly, none of the games on it are interesting, so I want to see what the PS3 is like.

i never really liked the xbox consoles (or 'x' marketing either), but, i've accepted that the 360 will have better games coming out for it, why? because it already has a huge fanbase, good games, and it's easy to develop for, if it's easier, that means cheaper which means more games will come out for it, it's very hard to port something good on the 360 or ps3 to the wii and do it well. Besides, it already has some of the best games released for it.

The wii, well, yeah, its cheap, and it has VC, which is cool, and so is the unique controller. However, very few games that can utilize this style (to the point that nintendo claimed it could do) or will. It's too gimicky and it's really all it and its games have going for it. It reminds me of a glorified version of those plug-and-play games that have a plastic bat and a home base...

the ps3, it's too buggy, too expensive. But if you're just a sony fanboy, or just want the latest MGS, Final Fantasy, or Resident Evil, or if you just want a blu-ray drive way before it becomes popular (and cheaper) and a more common medium, then go for it.


Of course, any choice will be swayed by the types of games you like to play. Personally, i like FPS games, and many good ones for the 360 have already come out.

The main problem with the 360 as far as I can tell is its quality control is still horrid. It definitely has the edge over the PS3 when it comes to titles and price.

Oh... Totally... Gears of War soooo looks like an Xbox game... I think your refering to the first gen games on the 360 like Perfect Dark Zero.

Agreed, even if you're playing with a low-def TV, the graphics for the 360 look nothing like its predecesors. Even Call of Duty 2, a launch game, looks better than alot of games released today.

Honestly, that 'graphics' comment was a poor fanboy jab at rival consoles...

I assure you my comment about the look of the 360 games verses the xbox games was no fanboy jab... I honestly saw no difference in the demos..... That said, I'm not talking about a poor XBox game, I'm talking about they didn't look much different from like Red Dead Revolver, sure there might have been a few more angles to see, but with the FPS's I was looking at..... i didn't have to notice better bumpmaps..... anyways, it's my view, and that's what counts.... not Fan Boyism.... Fan Boyism says the 360 sucks because it's not made by Nintendo.... truth is it's bad because it's price, it's quality, and lack of originality.... I don't see many games beyond the basic genres... FPS, a few RPG's, Racing Games, and Sims out the wazoo....

I'm really into electronics and looked at all of the consoles before making a decision. For any next gen system to be enjoyed to it's fullest you need an HDTV. The appreciation for what the system can do is accentuated by the HDTV. I chose the PS3 because of the brand, the reputation and for what it does. It's a media hub and I need/want that for an entertainment console. Beyond gaming, I can play back vids or show pics off my camera, play music and BD movies. I am 100% happy with my purchase and glad I chose this system over the others. The only other system that I considered was the 360 but it was just a little more expensive than the PS3 and I had too many local people who had already had issues with theirs and some with the red ring.

I love my Xbox 360 for the community. I don't play games in single player mode. I love the multiplayer over Xbox Live.

I can't really comment on the next generation systems, because I haven't purchased any of them yet...but I know, I plan on buying an XBox 360 within the next month.

I can't comment on Neverwinter Nights, because I haven't read a review on it, and I haven't heard any of my gamer buddies talk about it.
But, even though i haven't played it, I have heard Baldur's Gate 2 is worth your money.

Forget the consoles and get a 8800 gts / gtx for the PC.
