Creationists might be a factor. But I don't think it is a significant one.
It is the schools. They don't want to touch anything about religion.
That is NOT wise, not human. It is stupid.
They're scared to death of it. Religion is a controversial issue and the schools rightly don't want any part of it.

They are pretty ignorant due to the lack of theological education.

They could treat ALL religions equally in a few courses. Such as the two I mentioned: General Theology and Comparative Theology (all kind of course titles could be made based on these two ideas). In fact, to be a good humanistic school, they are obliged to offer such courses to modern civilized students. I assume even atheists would support this type of course (otherwise, how could they convince students that there is no god?).

While paradise was created in 6 days, we were removed from there
and the gates were closed. Unless you can show where it is?

The garden could have been in Pittsburg for all we know. The world wide flood of Noah would have washed it away.

I think the tree of knowledge and the tree of life have deep roots, by definition.
So they should still be there. But I imagine the flaming swords God put there got snuffed out?
Isn't that just like God to build in a flood zone?
I've been all over Pittsburgh, on foot. So no.

It depends on what you mean by that. Most teachers and administrators are religious, Christian, in fact, reflecting the demographic of their locality. Of course "Bible-believers" brand all but themselves as atheists lacking in theological knowledge.

Quite right; as I said, it's the "Bible-believers" who don't want it.

I don't know the answer. Which one is preferred between 1. no theological education at all, and 2. some "neutral (general, unbiased)" theological education in public school?

I prefer the latter. Fundamentalists would say: Teach Christianity, or teach nothing. I say: teach general theology. My reason is that Christianity is a special theology.

So do I, but I'm not holding my breath. Too many schools as have tried it have been sued or otherwise harassed by the Religious Right.

Why not those liberal States do it? Such as "the" California.
