  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Which One Works?

Which of these will actually allow us to grow spiritually?

  • Concentrating on your weaknesses?

  • Concentrating on what the Word says about you?

  • I have no idea!

2 Corinthians 3:14-18 NLT
But the people's minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. [15] Yes, even today when they read Moses' writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. [16] But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. [17] For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. [18] So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord-who is the Spirit-makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Reading, studying and meditating on what the word says about us is what will make us grow.

Concentrating on our weaknesses will only help us stay weak!

:)
Amen. We must never look on ourselves, but on Him and His Words.

There is a middle step that takes us out of Romans 7. Playing like we are not bound and wretched men who think if we talk positively enough, we will somehow grow from flesh to spirit simply doesn't work. It heals us "only slightly". What is the missing step? Cry out to God for the deliver to come deliver us from US....and then BELIEVE Him that He does.

Only then can we truly believe the truth that we really are dead, because we LONG to be dead to us and alive to Him. Only then can we reckon ourselves as actually DEAD. We cannot reckon ourselves as dead if we actually like our life in the flesh, serving God from afar. This is why Jesus said that we must HATE our life to find His. This is the hard part, a point our religious flesh refuses to acknowledge.

We have studied and meditated till the cows came home and have ended up healed only slightly. By this method, the church has become a splintered mess with each one saying that our way is the right way, yet with none walking in freedom.

Is it any wonder why those hungry for truth in the world and who inwardly love the light but do not know how to walk in it do not find joining the church a very appealing option? Why? Our light is simply not light enough to show them the HOW of walking in victory. Time to light our lamps, amen?

When we finally acknowledge that this Romans 7 walk really is our state and get desperate enough to only believe what we are actually reading, then our meditating on what God has said really will work..... guaranteed!

Blessings,

Gideon

Which of these do ya think would work the best?
I think that neither one works.

We are to keep our eyes on HIM. Only as we look at Him do we have the correct view of everything else...including ourselves.
