which language would you consider to be the most original .. hebrew, greek or english ..

for both old and new testament?


as far my knowledge is concerned.. hebrew could be the original and then greek and english are the translations.

As I understand it much of the source material, the original manuscripts of our Scriptures, are in a mixture of Greek and Hebrew.

Hebrew forms almost all of the old testament (it has little bits of Aramaic). Greek forms almost all of the New testament (it has little bits of Aramaic and Latin).

English wasn't around during the time of Jesus

Hebrew for the Old Testament (although the greek Septuagint text conforms to the Hebrew significantly over 95% of the time)

Greek for the New Testament. There is no Hebrew text of the NT, although there are some Aramaic sources which are intruiging but not proven scholastically.

English as a source language for the Bible is a ridiculously funny concept.
