  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

which is your favorite psalm?

I can't say that I have one certain favorite. However, I've taken the time and effort to memorize Psalm 23 because I've so often used portions of it in medical conditions or surgeries or actually any time I feel uncertain, that I figured I might just as well go ahead and memorize it all.

I'll call it my most used rather than favorite though.

I love all 150 Psalms. Some touch one area of my life and heart while others touch another part, so I am not good at choosing just one favorite.

I do love Psalm 51 if I had to choose just for this thread, especially in the 1650 Scottish Psalter in the tune of St. Kilda here. It speaks of one who realizes the depths of his depravity and sin, and calls out to God for his mercy. It touches a human level that all may relate to, especially in our conversion.

I hope you enjoy this.
