It seems that whoever made the test is trying to be positive regardless of what a person scores. Rather than telling people "You should get in touch with your feminine side" or "You should get in touch with your masculine side", the message is that there is something positive about wherever you might be on the spectrum. The positive of being close to 50-50 is being well-balanced. The positives of being skewed to one side or the other are being a good problem solver or being a good friend, etc. So I think that the person describing the score is actually trying to avoid any bias whatsoever about which sort of 'brain' is better. Whatever score you get, you will be told something positive about having that score.

That said, it may be a bit stereotypical to use the terms male and female to describe logical and emotional extremes, considering that most men and women are a combination of both. As you said, everyone is an individual. Perhaps it would have been better call the quiz a logical/emotional brain quiz rather than a gender brain quiz. Then again, perhaps the intent of the author was to show that people may not match what stereotypes say they should be like in the first place. It's hard to know without asking the author
