Which books do you recommend for learning and researching the basics of evolution and

Some of the suggestions regarding creationism/evolution brings to mind a recent book by Michael Ruse which unfortunately I can't recall the title of.

I would recommend "Tower of Babel" by Robert Pennock. It is not book on evolution but a book on philospophy of science and it addresses creationism/ID and why it is not a science. great read and great speaker.

An excellent review. I don't agree with all of it, but, as always, your position is well stated. I also agree with your suggestion that more of us sign up to do reviews on amazon.com. There are several books I have read over the last year that I would like to comment on, and I think I'll take you up on this.
