Oh Phil. I don't know about "no contest." I kinda think the Who are a bit over-rated. Their music bores me out of my mind (except for Tommy, which is pretty awesome). The Guess Who wrote a lot of really cool stuff, though.

Eh, maybe it's just me, but I am a huge Who fan. Who's Next and Tommy are both absolutely brilliant, and "Won't Get Fooled Again" is revolutionary for experimenting with synths without being overly pretentious.

Let me just offer some of my favorite Guess Who tunes: "No Time," "Share the Land," "No Sugar Tonight - New Mother Nature," "These Eyes," "She's Come Undone," and, of course, "American Woman." If you have the means, and don't really know much about the band, check out a few of these Guess Who songs.

Harry Chapin, many more songs. Even though Don McLean has an incredible tune in "American Pie." I think "Cats in the Cradle" rivals it. And if you listen to just a few Chapin tunes, you will quickly see he destroys Don McLean's "other" works.
