My wife and I have been struggling with life for the last year. It has been completely horrible, I left the Army after 12 years, to come home only to get a sub par job that meant only making a little less than half of what I was in the Army, working long hours, driving over an hour to work, to come home to a house that was definitely divided. I could count the number of times we almost called it quits and went our seperate ways. We have battled financial stresses for a year now, and with the economy going south it was only going to get worse. Then out of the blue, I get a call to interview for a job that I knew nothing about! Never even thought about working for this company. I knew absolutely nothing about the industry and was clearly not the ideal candidate for the position. But for some reason I went through with the interviews, only to be offered the job yesterday! It was completely amazing, the salary is about 17000 more a year, yes that is 17000 more a year, in an economy that is going south fast. The company is very stable and has a great structure to it. Right after the offer was given the CEO informed me that he about to just put the opening on the shelf and wait till the spring and see if the economy was better and start looking again. He wasn't even looking to fill the position that I didn't even apply for! Think about that for a min. Here was a position that wasn't even on the market given to a man that wasn't even looking. I just wanted to throw a praise out there! this is the wildest thing that is still a little surreal. So anyways, there is my good fortune, it is funny how when I have been in the valley for so long and I was truly unhappy with life, how when something refreshing happens, I just want to sit back and look at the past year.
