• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I meant where we irrevocably mess up the atmosphere, and the earth turns into an oven a al venus. I've never heard that is impossible, but you could well be correct. Do you have any links to articles saying it is impossible? Have you read (in a science based article) that it is impossible?

No, he hasn't

The earth is a blessed planet (when we take a peek on our neighboring planets). It suffered all type of natural disasters before, included run away global warming events. But it always recovered and goes back to "normal" situation. So, no, the history of the earth strongly suggest that the change of natural environment will not kill off all life forms on the earth.

Yes.

Ever read the book of Job?

And, by the way, notice here ...

Job 40:16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

How can a "terrible lizard" have a navel?

Here's an old thread I started years ago:

Following is a list of animals found in the Bible:
  1. fowled bat
  2. behemoth
  3. leviathan
  4. four-legged grasshopper
  5. satyr
  6. unicorn
  7. dragon
  8. straw-eating lions
I contend that these animals are problematic for evolutionists.

SOURCE

When you give me actual EVIDENCE that they existed (perhaps fossils, or a living specimen (did they all die out in the flood?) or something more than a passing reference in an old book, then I'll explain them.

Until then, you have nothing. The claims of an old book hold very little weight with me.

When did lack of evidence ever get in science's way?

If scientists want to believe something, they'll believe it, and [lack of] evidence can take a hike.

Ever heard of missing links?

When did evidence ever get in a theists way? If theists want to believe something for lack of evidence, so be it.

I'll go hiking with the evidence.

There is no such tipping point. It is harder to eliminate any life species now.

Species are being forced to extinction as fast as we can count them. It is a mass extinction event as large as most that mark the end of geological eras. We have decided to call it the Anthropocene.

I don't see how would it be the case.
Even it is happening, the reason must not be the human.

By the way, I thought you believe everything goes in circles and the cycle never ends, right?

Humans have become a force of nature, and we are completely responsible for the coming sixth extinction. This is undeniable.
There are dozens of books written by experts in the field, if you're interested.

Like the Hellstrom Chronicle?

And don't you mean seventh extinction?

Wasn't Y2K the sixth?

Why is it not deniable? I don't have to read those books. I will become angry if I read them. They to me are similar to those creation books to you.

If you are so convinced, why don't you share one of the most evident one with me? Which extinction is definition caused by human? I think those endangered species would go extinct anyway with or without human. We simply accelerated the process. If one species is not endangered, we are not likely to kill them off anyway.

Don't worry bro, I'm sure Jesus will make an appearance before then. ;)
I wouldn't talk, if I were you.

If everything science predicted would have come to pass, Jesus wouldn't have anything to come back to.

Right. He'd better get off his duff, and kick it into high gear.
As many times as scientists have cried, "Wolf!" (in sheeps' clothing), would you come running?
