  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Where is a "6000 year old earth" found in scripture?

Actually it does. I have moved on past the young earth sermons and I follow
the recommendations of Henry Morris for interpreting scripture. I just reach
different conclusions the he did. There is no "young earth" described in scripture.

So we call it "24 hour days", but God exactly measures one day by 18 parts, sunset to sunset.

If you travel fast enough by plane toward the west, there is no sunset.
If you could walk fast enough to the west, there would be no sunset.
So evidently these are human measures on a spinning globe,
God has no use for time. He is eternal and doesn't experience it.

I notice that at no time do you refer to scripture during your sermon.

I can tell my version with scripture.

God "Creates" in a specific order, but not using any time system we are familiar with.
He created our Cosmos in an orderly fashion that had nothing to do with the way we
use time, based on our observation of 24 hours days.

To keep us from getting lost in the story, God uses morning and evening to denote
and orderly and purposeful work week. Good Christian men have walked on the moon.
What they found there is that morning and evening is 28.5 days long.

So if God was writing scripture, while sitting on the moon, a morning and evening would be 28.5 days.
But God does not experience time at all.

Isaiah 40:28 -Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends
of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

It’s not that God isn’t real; it’s a matter of His not being limited by the physical laws and dimensions that govern
our world. Though he knows that man does use the sun to mark off time.

15 For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell on a high
and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly
And to revive the heart of the contrite.

Moses used a simple yet profound analogy in describing the timelessness of God:
4 For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or as a watch in the night.

God’s perspective on time is far different from mankind’s:
11 My days are like a lengthened shadow, And I wither away like grass.
12 But You, O LORD, abide forever, And Your name to all generations.

24 So I said:“Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days;your years go on through all generations.
25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 They will perish, but you remain;they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them
and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same, and your years will never end.

The Lord does not count time as we do. He is above and outside of the sphere of time. God sees all of eternity’s past and eternity’s future. The time that passes on earth is of no consequence from God’s timeless perspective. A second is no different from an eon; a billion years pass like seconds to the eternal God.

God never used time, as we know it:
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God..

Scripture reveals that God lives outside the bounds of time as we know it. Our destiny was planned “before the beginning of time” (2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 1:2) and “before the creation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4; 1 Peter 1:20). “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible” (Hebrews 11:3). In other words, the physical universe we see, hear, feel and experience was created not from existing matter, but from a source independent of the physical dimensions we can perceive.

“God is spirit” (John 4:24), and, correspondingly, God is timeless rather than being eternally in time or being beyond time. Time was simply created by God as a limited part of His creation for accommodating the workings of His purpose in His disposable universe (see 2 Peter 3:10-12).

Adam was created the second day after fall equinox, on day 6 of creation week, and God ordained the religious first of the year to begin at spring equinox when Noah stepped out of the Ark.
On day 6 God created a "male and female", They were told to: " Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,".

2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Adam we are told was formed when God breathed into him the breath of life and he became a living soul. He was then put in the Garden of Eden. There are way to many differences between the male and female in Chapter one and the man and women we read about in Chapter two. You need to take a LOT closer look at your Bible and go a LOT deeper into reading the Bible. The breath of life or: "nephesh" is what made Adam and Eve different. The flood of Noah involved this people that had the "nephesh" or the breath of life referred to as the sons of God.

Yes and it is not fun because it is a 17 hour flight and there is no darkness, so it is difficult to sleep.

Also, while it is technically true one day to God is as a thousand years, the 6 days of creation were literal 24 hour days based on the sun rising and setting so each day is a normal Earth day, not one of God's days.
Actually the day begins at sunset. Our day now begins at midnight. "evening and the morning were the first day." There is a lot of spiritual significance to the day starting in darkness and the progression we have to make before the dawn when we enter into the light of day. If your looking at Old Earth Creationism in the beginning the day was shorter then a day is now.

"In southern Australia, for example, these vertically accumulating tidal "rhythmites" have pegged an Earth day at 21.9 hours some 620 million years ago. This equates to a 400-day year, although other estimates suggest even brisker daily rotations then." http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/earth-rotation-summer-solstice/

Why should I do a detailed Bible study for you, since you never reply to Scripture and do not study it for yourself, for truth,
Students of the Word itself, do recognize the references.

Time is created by God from the beginning, on day 1 of creation week, which was named "Day" after He called the light to "Be", out of the darkness, and He called the darkness "evening" and the light "day", and named the rotation of the darkness and light in the circling of the globe of waters, "One Day", which was the first day of creation week.

That is irrelevant. The point was a full day was clearly 24 hours (or slightly less if your article is true), not 1000 years.
God's Day always begins at sunset, from the beginning.
His heavenly calendar goes like clockwork, rolling the years forward in all the plans He has set within them.
The 18 parts "day", counted from sunset to sunset has never changed.
The years' Seasons of His Feasts calculated from spring equinox to spring equinox as 360 days of the 52 weeks of one year, with the added 4 Sabbath "stop" days that head the seasons, as well as the years counted from creation beginning at the fall equinox , roll on forward, numbering the Jubilee years in the heavens and counted from the beginning of creation to the "New Beginning", and never cease nor change.
His stars bring in the seasons, year after year.
His sun brings in the months, year to year, and never ceases.
And so on and so forth.

Nobody needs a detailed bible study to learn God's Truth.
That's where people get brain washed.
God's Truth is repeated by multiple authors each presenting
a different aspect of the same Truth.

Fact is, the Bible is not required for God's Truth to be known.
Scripture is good for knowledge and teaching, but not required.
The scripture we have, has not always existed until penned by
men, guided by the Spirit. But it's not necessary.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse

God's Day always begins at sunset, from the beginning.

Unless God is sitting on a house near the earth's surface using human eyeballs, God sees no sunset.
You may be thinking of a play.

Only if your standing on one place on the earth.
God would never see light and dark.
Plus, He has no eyes.

God has no eyes to see light or skin to feel warmth.

I disagree. The bible is given to man from God so we can learn the truths within. It's the whole point of the bible. Without it, man can and has made up any number of untruths and religions.

I am a little lost here as to where you are at. Look at the story of the women they accused of adultery. Jesus said: "Whoever is without sin among you, let him be the first to cast a stone at her." Basically we have a problem here, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and all are worthy of death. So we are not subject to the law because under the law no one would be worthy to live. In the case of Jesus, He never broke the law. He came to set an example to show us how we are to live.

17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

The angels are His eyes. There are always observers. "For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him." Eze 10:12 "And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had."

As I said, the Bible has many meanings. Genesis refers to the day God finished His work. There is no reference as to when He began the work. How do you understand the command that they were to replenish the earth.

Yes there is, the first day he started creating in this age.

How do you understand the command that they were to replenish the earth.

Replenish means to fill, not to re-fill.
