Be careful with that EC: By the same logic of not removing the Shabbat commandment, one could make the same argument for all of the other Lev. 23 feast days .....
Not until after the first or second century. (thereafter, the traditions introduced were not of YHWH nor of Y'SHUA)The feasts were replaced for Christians by baptism and the Lord's supper.
I was being facetious... note to self to stop as it is not conducive to the seriousness of what we are discussing. Please forgive me for inserting confusion into the dialogue.
Do you agree with the modified statements? They are all Law based... if you think they are silly, then you can see how silly it is to use the 4th Commandment in the same way. No matter how hard you'll try to remove the 4th Commandment from the rest, it will be to no avail. You, nor any other man is not God and cannot rescind or change anything He has written... in stone no less, personally communicated with His own finger.
"Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.
If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations— “Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch” (referring to things that all perish as they are used)—according to human precepts and teachings? These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh." Colossians 2:16-23
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
"After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God." Mark 16:19
"A Psalm of David. The LORD says to my Lord: "Sit at My right hand Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet." Psalm 110:1
What the law could not accomplish though the weakness of our flesh, Christ accomplished in His righteousness by the grace of the Father. It was commanded in the Mosaic Law (Old Testament) but believers have passed from death into life through Christ's sacrifice in the faith of His promises (New Testament).
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:29-30
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1
I'm pretty sure you have no idea what the origins of my fruits are so let's not take this thread in that direction.
That your fruits are legalistic to say the least. Please elaborate... what do you know about me?
Correct.Because of what exactly? Because I honour God in worshipping and communing with Him on the day He Sanctified and Hallowed? I wouldn't call that legalistic... obedient maybe.
I did this once, but it didn't take. The remainder of Hebrews 4 doesn't change what it said. So what you have written here says what? Yes, His works were finished from the foundation of the world, yet WE THAT BELIEVE enter it. It says that the ones who didn't keep it did so because of unbelief. 9&10 say that there remains a rest for the people of God and that we cease from our works, as He DID from His . The rest of Hebrews 4 takes nothing away from that. The Sabbath was kept by believers until Rome changed it. It again was restored right on time like prophecy said it would be. It will be the reasoning behind the dragon being wroth with the woman. There will many people who claim they follow Christ, but are workers of iniquity. The door will not be opened once the time of probation closes. Heaven will depart as a scroll rolled up. All this funny symbolism in Dan & Rev tells a very explicit series of events and it boils down to keeping God's commands......or not.Why don't you read the rest of Hebrews 4! The 7th day was a symbol of the finished work of Christ that we enter by faith not law keeping.
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Heb. 4:3
Unfortunately yeshuaslavejeff, of all the Commandments of God, Satan hates the 4th the most for it identifies and memorializes the Creator. It is His seal as Almighty God, Creator of the heavens and earth.
The bible is clear that those that receive this seal of God in their foreheads are those that keep (all) the Commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ... which is the spirit of prophesy.
Rev 19:10
...for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
