I'm not sure where to start in the scriptures. I read the book of John and I loved it but im not sure where should I read now..Please help me out

Funny you should ask. My Mother-in-Law who just accepted Jesus in January and passed away in April asked the same question. I've given her a new large-print Bible and suggested the following. You'll find there is no one answer, but read as God leads you.

John
I, II, III John
Psalms
Genesis
Exodus
New Testament (however led)
Old Testament (however led)

The important thing is to read and study daily, perhaps seek a Bible Study with other practicing Christians.

That is a good question, I myself have just started really reading the Bible a few days ago, I started with 1 & 2 Corinthians, I love reading letters to churches because it's interesting how relevant those letters are today, also some problems I deal with are in those letters and they give me inspiration.

Well, dmart, I have to admit I Corinthians is the one book I read more often than any and for the same reason you do.

The Gospels, through the New Testament. John is a must read, but also good to get one of the other remaining Gospels. Luke, Mark, and Matthew repeat a number of the same things.

Then, Acts... straight to Revelation... I would skip Revelation until reading the Old Testament.

On the Old Testament, stick to the stories.

Start with Genesis and read to the end of the Bible. Then go back to Genesis and read to the end of the Bible.

Then......Go back to Genesis and read to the end of the Bible. Then over again, and again.......

As you read, stop and think about what's being said. Formulate a picture. Don't worry about if you're wrong, just be prepared to allow this picture to flex as you gain knowledge. Try to understand, but don't worry if you don't. Just put it away, and in it's time it will come to you.

If you want to study the Bible, I would suggest getting hold of a Strong's Concordance.

That's always frustrated me too. I suggest you find a topic that you want to learn about and research it. For example if you chose "grace" as your topic you could study what the Bible says about that...Or what it means to be saved...Or baptism...This method works better for me than just trying to read cover to cover. Good luck!

I would start with any of the 4 Gospels at the Night before the Crucifixion, Read until you
get to the part where Jesus departs to the Father. This is the Final Act of Jesus.
Read and Re-read this over and over, until you understand the " it is Finished ".
I would then Go to Mark 15:38. and Meditate on it. Next get a red text Bible, Read only the Red Text.
While Jesus is Alive. I would advise to not read. the Red Text in Revelations.
I would not read any of the Acts, OT or letters, As you must understand the ACT of Jesus. before you read about the acts of men ie, creation. My Favorite is the NIV, As it has people munching on the fruit of the Tree of Live in Revelations and mentions the Root of David and the Bright and Morning Star.

Read Matthew (the gospel). Because it's different from the Gospel of John. (The Gospel of Mark and Luke are a little bit of repeats of Matthew, so for now, leave them). Then read Acts - it shows how the apostoles lived and what they did.

Then just go in order, Romans...Corinthians...

And read as much as you can because time is short and we need to be spiritually ready for what's coming...
