Where have all the ethics gone?

Why is Newt Gingrich getting a pass from Dobson and Falwell? This man's personal moral life is a disaster and Dobson is pumping him up and Falwell has invited him to give the commencement address at Liberty U. WHY?????

Newt married his high school teacher, and divorced her, talking about the details with her as she recovered from uterine cancer. He did not pay the alimony or child support, so her church supporter her for a time. He had been having affairs while he was married... and 6 months after the divorce married wife #2. He was cheating on #2 with an aide while leading the charge against Clinton for lying about his affair.

He told wife #2 that he was divorcing her over the phone while she was at her mother's birthday party... 8 months after he learned she had multiple sclerosis, and he's now on wife #3.

No matter how they try and package it, Newt is a serial adulterer who has treated his wives very badly. So why is Dobson giving this man air time and supporting him???

I'm disgusted.

Good grief, whatever happened to the idea of electing godly men??? I've been VERY disappointed with Dr. Dobson for some time. He doesn't seem to be very consistent. Although, I don't agree with most of the "Christian" media anyway.

We have a Christian leader who promotes the family and his guest for a softball interview is someone who clearly has no clue what families are all about. Offer the man counseling, guidance as he attempts to make right all the wrongs he did, (funny, no mention of that!) Bible study and discipling. But a public forum as he prepares to run for public office????

What does Dobson value? It seems that he values men who treat their wives and children in shameful ways.

It's going to be more and more difficult to find moral candidates - we're getting to the baby boomers, my generation, and we were horrible.

The only thing I can say is that each candidate is human.

It isn't a matter of who I'd like to have as President. It's about 2 Christian leaders shilling for a person who seems to hold none of the values they claim to think are important.

I could be wrong -- I never cease to be amazed at the human capacity for strange choices -- but I really can't believe that he stands the slightest chance of being elected. For him to receive the party's nomination would be deeply foolhardy.

Ethics are hard to find in any politician now of days, from bribe money found in ice boxes to shaddy land deals in Los Vegas to endless trail of secret mistresses to this. Good luck finding purely clean politician now of days. I agree it is sad.
