I'm from GA. I was born in Dalton (In NW GA) and moved to the neighboring county around 87 or so. Lived in a little one-horse town called Tennga since. I still commute to Dalton and also Chatsworth GA regularly. One thing about being in NW GA, is that I'm decently close to three other states (AL, TN, and NC) I like visiting them as often as I can :)

Half of my family is from Hiawassee, and they still live there except for me and my mom side (NC). I have to say it's very nice place and it's a town where everybody knows everybody, although recently they have been having a population boom. (I don't know if it would be called a boom for the city folk) But people are moving in, and homes are springing up all over. I don't like how the town is changing into a resort area. But anyways, its sits on Lake Chatuge in the Unicoi Gap, great place to live, and if you like trout fishing, camping or any other outdoor activity then you oughta check it out. Also in August the Georgia Mountain Fair rolls into town, and they have an auditorium with bands that plays some good Southern Gospel Music, as well as rides and shops, real neat. Also, Helen is just a spot in the road but also a nice little "alpine" town. Everything in Helen is set up like an Alpine village everything just about is in German, real neat town to spend a half a day in. Cool shops, places to go tubing down the Chattahoochie. The whole North Georgia area is a neat place, with a lot of it's heritage preserved.
P.S if you pass my Aunt Ailene watch out cause she's probably on the front porch siftin beans with a shot-gun, HAHA (It's the truth though!) You oughta visit up there real neat place! ^_^

Hey All.

We have SNOW in North Georgia today (April 14).

Just enough to cover the ground in Hiawassee, but other towns (Blairsville and Jasper) are reporting as much as 2 inches.

One note about the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds mentioned by TwistrAndy, they actually have concerts for about 6 months of the year. They begin about this time of year and go through October. Some of the biggest names in country music come here for concerts (which is pretty cool). We also get some Contemporary Christian groups in concert up here too, but the majority of the concerts are by country artists.

Hi y'all!

I live in the Atlanta suburbs... Marietta, specifically.

I've been living here for about 11 years now, but grew up in Greenville, South Carolina.

Anyone else around here live close to Marietta/Kennesaw?

~Pamela

I have some relatives there. My aunt's husband owns and operates a business with his brother.

Ever heard of Bay Marina?
