  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You haven't shown that they are true.

"That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence."--Christopher Hitchens

Actually my assumptions don't rise to the level of assertions.

noun: assumption · plural noun: assumptions
  1. a thing that is accepted as true or as certain to happen, without proof:
"they made certain assumptions about the market"
    synonyms: supposition · presumption · belief · expectation · conjecture · speculation · surmise · guess · premise · hypothesis · conclusion · deduction · inference · illation · notion · impression

noun: assertion · plural noun: assertions
  1. "a confident and forceful statement of fact or belief:"

I'd say my construct of unwritten flood details are more speculation than anything.

Gives me some wiggle room. ^_^
Giving wiggle room to religion has been the cause of Americas problems, it should have been ridiculed out of existence by now instead it's been allowed to undermine and destroy the whole fabric of American society.

John 11:45 Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
46 But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

I meant wiggle room for my speculations.

Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.”

“Beware the irrational, however seductive. Shun the 'transcendent' and all who invite you to subordinate or annihilate yourself. Distrust compassion; prefer dignity for yourself and others. Don't be afraid to be thought arrogant or selfish. Picture all experts as if they were mammals. Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity. Seek out argument and disputation for their own sake; the grave will supply plenty of time for silence. Suspect your own motives, and all excuses. Do not live for others any more than you would expect others to live for you.”

So did I.

Luckily for me most of the people in my country see religion for what it really is, a hoax.

I may be wrong, but I would have to disagree with that. Creation science, a hoax, yes. Religion, a hoax, I don't think so.

I won't derail the op so we will just agree to believe what we want.

Just a quick Google shows you right and me wrong, with some 47% that do associate with a religion and 53% that don't, though the majority was the opposite in 2004 and prior. Thanks for the enlightenment.
