David wrote, O Lord, what is a man that thou carest for him, or the son of man that thou regardest him? Man is like a smoke and a vapor, a thing of naught.
Up and up and up into space, reaching a place where time is not! And man may ask, Where does the universe end? And if it were possible to know, what is it that lies beyond? Infinity where moons, and suns, and earths, and universes all move in one gigantic sweeping circle!
Again, one may ask, Could there be a center pole, one in which all things orbit? If so, is it even a place at all, a thing we can understand? Does it transcend the material, would it exceed even our wildest imaginations, and if so, what would we call it?
Christians would call it the place of the Almighty, or it may be God Himself! Can the greatest of minds and computer combine to ever begin to unravel these mysteries, mysteries that only God Himself possesses?
Does our Creator laugh, and pity us at the same time when He hears men speak of finding with material sciences the secrets and wonders of the cosmos, of life, of death, of resurrection?
Our short earthly lives will end in due time, our bodies buried with little pomp and ceremony. And if blessed with Gods blessings, our soul will move on to some great unknown adventure; and the Almighty will still be here.
And after our childrens children remember us no more; when our homes will have crumbled; Jehovah will still be here. Our achievements will have ceased to be remembered, the fame and fortune we sought after will have been for naught; America will be as Nineveh and Tyre; and God will still be here.
The sun will diminish, and the earth will freeze over; and men will cease to be; and all life itself will have expired; and God will still be here. And if God were willing, even the universes would be no more; even as they were made; and God will still be here.
So let us contemplate God as He is! Let us honor, and glorify our Creator for who He is, and one day all will be revealed to His precious sons and daughters.
