when I was small, I thought Saskatchewan was a country. an island country at that... somewhere near indonesisa... dunno how that go tinto my head, but it did. ANYWAYS... Saskatchewan is in Canada, just to clear that up. The name is not English.

After looking it up on the net, I can tell you it comes from the Cree Indian name for the river in saskatchewan, Kisiskatchewanisipi.

woohoo just came back from a trip to Ottawa... make me feel pwoud. hehehe
seriously, though, ottawa is an awesome place... the architecture there(an in nearby areas... namely museum of civilization) is absolutely spectacular. So much to do and see... its a busy city, but not nearly as hectic as Toronto, which is a good thing.

Saskatchewan - a place where no one can jump to their death! Where there is more oil than in Alberta, potash, uranium, gold, diamonds, rare earth minerals...all safely in the ground because "we get bigger transfer payments if we remain a have not province". Hah!

Saskatchewan - home of the first ATM machine, the first paved runway between Vancouver and Montreal, the only man-made mountain...who but a Saskatchewanian would succeed in BUILDING a mountain... Our only problem is our loser socialist mentality! which is reflected in our government. (I am now stepping down off my podium).
